They didnt fire any of them, except Kromer, because then they owe them the money.

The plan is when others call and ask for permission to talk to Mel Tucker, then the Bears will agree to release the coach and not owe him anything.

Now they just need to sit and wait for that "Can I have Mel Tucker call"

This is pretty common. I'm sure all other NFL teams do it. I don't think Teddy should be mocked or praised for it.

Why fire them and lose all that money if they can get to other teams you are off that hook.
