I'll be at the game tonight. PM me if you are there and I'll buy you a drink.

Is there anyone worth a damn on the Celtics?

awww dammit you Caller Bob i was looking forward to making the gamethread something like BULLS PACK SOME C INTO THEIR PIPE AND SMOKE IT!!!!!! referencing how people get max-colloquial with the celtics by calling them the C's and well, i've heard some people refer to crack as C and yeah.

but since i'm not gonna be a proper c-nut and just make a new gamethread cuz i didnt see this one in the active topics, welp, here we are.

and the celtics were up 35-30 when i started writing this message..... wtf. they dont have rondo! they dont have garnett or pierce (id garnett retire yet? ....please? i know pierce is on the wizards) so yeah it looks like the celtics are game.... but even with low-% volume chucker (his european DJ name) derrick rose fondling his jump-shot the bulls should be able to out-class these guys, even tho i swear i just heard neil funk say in the background that "they trail by 8 in the early going"

they got this. i'm not scurred. who's with me?

hmmm.... i'll give you til the all-star break to change your opinion on derrick rose so you'll end up with a red-n-black colored signature line that says "Derrick Rose Will Lead The Bulls To A 2015 NBA Championshit" --- unless your anti-rose stance is technically trolling, in that case i'll just have to respectfully nod towards you.

also, WOW..... i guess neil was reminiscing on an 8pt deficit that the bulls had earlier in the game because right afterwards i heard in the background that a bucket put them up 2, and now the half has ended with the bulls up 46-40.

the bulls were shooting something like 29% when they were trailing the celtics, and that was only by like 8 max and ~3-5 at its worst during mid-to-mid/late-2nd-quarter, so it stands to reason that if the bulls stop shooting like utter shit (aka just another night in the office for THE VOLUME CHUCKER(TM)!!!!!!) they're a comprehensively better all-around-team than the celtics so they should be able to coast to a relatively easy victory. the only way i can see the celtics sneaking out of here with a W is if the bulls have a season-worst-caliber shooting night and/or if the celtics have one of those vintage 2010s-knicks-style "crazy shooting nights" where they go like 12/17 from the 3pt arch to put the icing on a ~60% shooting cake.

the bulls are just too damn good for the celtics to overcome, and you know a thibodeau-led team isn't going to take a night off and just be like "awww comeon coach who gives a fuck?" because thibodeau will prolly walk up to them and pimpslap them upside the head and be like "DO YOU WANT TO GO TO THE TORTURE ROOM? KEEP TALKING, DERRICK, KEEP TALKING!!!!!!!!!!!!"

GODDAMMIT. the celtics ARE having that crazy shooting night, as evan turner has 23pts in the 2nd half.... and with the bulls not shooting especially well (derrick has to be under 40% right?) that means that they're right in it as they've got the ball down 1 with 31.8 seconds left. time for the bulls to play some D and just dont let them get to the line on some bullshit. only if it's an easy layup you're denying. make them earn it.

i got the celtics feed on so i'm eharing biased commentary the other way and they wanted 2 free throws and the ball for a trip foul on noah here we go

FUCKIN SHIT TAJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE FUCK????????????LHJFKAHDFKASHDFSAD

man we stgopped em but sullenger got the putback with 2.6 seconds left. so the bulls have 2.6 seconds to win or we go to overtime, where again i think we have the class/quality/depth to win this by default.... that is unless derrick keeps on taking stupid fucking shots (read: any shots. let's be real here =) and yeah. fuck. herewego!

GODDAMMIT! that play was designed PERFECTLY we got a wide open jumper in the corner and it looked good going up.... and of course my stream froze right as the ball was first touching the rim and i had my arms up and yelled THERE IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!! then after like 10 seconds my stream unfroze and i saw the ball quickly whip around and go out.... so overtime it is.

welp, this is another good regular season opportunity for the bulls to get some much-needed experience in high-pressure situations to find out who you can count on for clutch buckets and what kind of plays you run. again, thibodeau called a BRILLIANT play (even the celtics announcers said it was rare to see a coach draw up a play that specifically worked against the celtics ike that, but thibs did... and it fucking worked. there was nobody within 3-4 feet of that shot... it was the look you wanted, you got it, and it just rimmed out.

so now use your superior team/depth to outlast these clowns and get us out of here with a win. it's like i told my dad the other night in the.... shit, was it the nuggets game? it was the one where the bulls had a 20pt lead whittled down to near/even if not even a few point deficit in the 4th quarter and he was bemoaning the lead they blew and i said "dad, this is good experience for the bulls. they need these high pressure situations to get some practice/experience in before you have a whole lot of 'em in the playoffs. since the bulls dont take games off and try to win every game, welp, these are the kind of things you need to go through as a team so when playoff times comes and you're in a tight up-n-back ballgame down the stretch you know who you can count on and what kind of plays you can run.... and sure enough the bulls won that game. so i think even tho you technically blew a ~20something point lead, it's better to have a down-to-the-last-possession regular season game than an easy coast-to-coast 20something point blowout, cuz you dont learn anything in those games other than the bulls have an above average team that can slay bums/middle-of-the-standngs teams in the meaningless regular season. you actually learn something when you see the bulls have to fight and scrap in a 1-possession-game down the stretch.

and tonight is more great experience going forward. let's hope they can hold on. SAY YES TO DRUGS KIDS!

shut the fuck up. i've got my 312 urban wheat ales and my fifth of jack and i'm watching the bulls as i had a busy day holding down the house today. i dont have a lot of time to get handiwork done so i spent all day putting in work on teh domestic front, and now i'm kicking back with a few cold ones and an entertaining basketball game doing my thing where i talk shit as i'm watching the end of an exciting game and now i've got some ~50%-likely-OKC/TP-mult riding a fucking meme that nas started because you don't know me from a hole in the ground and when nas said it you got a chuckle so now you're just repeating nas' bullshit over and over and over again cuz OMFG LOL GUYS THIS GUY TALKS A LOT COMPARED TO THE REST OF US SO HE'S CLEARLY ON DRUGS!

fuck off man. even if i was on drugs i'm still smarter/cleverer/more-interesting-and-worthwhile than you, who has nothing to add to the discussion (or maybe the lack of discussion is what it's about? sorry nobody else is watching this and wanting to bellow out thing son the msgboard as they happen. clearly my fault) so all you can do is parrot some LOL THIS DIFFERENT GUY IS ON DRUGS!!!! meme that a quality poster once said because when it comes to tonight's game you've got nothing to offer other than LOL SINI IS DIFFERENT GUYS!

yeah this was a dumbass post on my part, but since you're "new" here you gotta get at least one admonishment from me so here it is. fuck off man.... seriously i come here to enjoy a game and hopefully shoot the shit with a few people when i dont have a social life going on tonight cuz i had shit to do and i busted my ass to get it handled in time to sit down and enjoy this here basketball game, and instead of getting any sort of bulls banter going on i get wannabe-memetic dipshits like you all HURR DURR HE'S DIFFERENT THAN THE STATUS QUO SO HE'S CLEARLY ON DRUGS!!!! nas gets a pass from me cuz he's more than proven his worth on the CSFMB and he's a board-renown troll who loves to push buttons and/or stir the drink, so that's cool. et tu brute?

caesar aint falling. he's pimpslapping your dumb ass like seriously add something to the thread that isn't a stupid parroted meme. and to think i gave you my vote for rookie of the year.... for shame.

</rant>

also, fuck off.

its obvious rose is coasting through games. not even trying enough to make shots.

proof is how he played all night tonight, but when there 20sec left in overtime and they need a bucket, he goes isolation and pulls a wicked double crossover that looked just like his mvp year.

hes definitely mailing it in until the playoffs

....aaaaand that should about do it. 108-104 bulls and the dumbass celtics turned it over with 7.5 seconds left.

so even tho i'm obviously on drugs [insert your wannabe-don-tiny-picture here] did i not tell you that the bulls are a superior team wit more quality/depth/etc so even tho they weren't playing especially well this overtime (hey at least derrick hit one of his 5 FGs here!) they managed to outlast the celtics and (barring some reggie miller vs the knicks shit) get the win.

that stat line for d-rose i dropped is troubling because when you see 5-18 from the field and 1 assist.... yeah that's your point guard. someone has to tell this guy that it's jimmy butler's team now, meaning that when you're on offense the best idea isn't to see what kind of a jump shot we can get for derrick, it's to find out what if anything jimmy butler has in mind before all else.... cuz see part of being the #1 scoring option on a team is, you know, having the first crack at figuring out how the team is going to score on this possession. i can't help but feel like derrick is in the midst of swallowing a bitter pill when he realizes that the bulls are no longer a "give it to derrick and pray" offense. NO DOUBT COINCIDENTALLY, the bulls are averaging ~103ppg this season while they averaged ~93ppg year-in/year-out from 2010-2014. gee, i wonder if that's in any way related to the bulls' top scorer NOT being derrick rose? maybe just maybe that has something to do with it? hmmmmmm.

so comeon derrick get with the program. you're still a very important part of this team, especially if you adapt your game to play with jimmy butler as "THE GUY", otherwise you've got people as everyday as my dad thinking "man maybe we can trade rose and get a more helpful piece back.... or well there's not too many years left on his deal so after he goes maybe we can do [this or that]...." and like, comeon, heading into this season the team's hopes were pinned on you coming back and being even 75% of what you were b4 the injuries started happening. now casual observers of the team recognize that you're getting in the way of this team being as good as it can be. so with that in mind REALIZE THAT YOU'RE NOT THE ONE AND ONLY GUY ON OFFENSE AND STOP GOING 5-18 FROM THE FIELD WITH ONE FUCKING ASSIST. there's no shame in averaging 15/9 when you're a point guard, especially when the alternative seems to be jacking up 20 shots a game so you can hopefully average ~20 with 3-4 assists? YOU'RE A FUCKING POINT GUARD! FACILITATE THE BALL!

</rant>

anyways i'm gonna go hit my crack pipe now, with teh irony being that i dont even wanna post at all when i'm on hard drugs like that c'est la vie.

see that's troubling to me because the team as a whole learned how to play without derrick while he was recovering from his injuries and/or nursing his vagina to the tune of postponing #TheReturn for another ~6 months because.... well, idk. i'm sure adidas was tickled pink to run a whole marketing campaign around the guy's return in the 12-13 season and he was like "nah.... i'm good" only to come back the next season start chucking up a bunch of bullshit to the tune of shooting ~33% and then getting hurt again and calling it a season.... until USA basketball comes calling again. he'll come back for them, but the 12-13 bulls? nah he doesn't wanna rush back and get injured and miss another whole season! so instead he takes his sweet ass time.... comes back on his own timetable and then proceeds to go and get injured and miss another whole season! c'est la fucking vie.

i hope to god you're right ike, because i always used to say that "one thing you gotta give derrick is that he's got heart!" back when he stepped up and took the blame for the 4-1 ECF loss to the heatles. he didnt shy away from talking about the lack of scoring options on the team or anything. he stepped up and said that he wasn't good enough and thus the bulls lost to the heat. and then he started getting hurt and and prolly coulda came back but decided to take his time and do it on his schedule and everyone bent over backwards to try and accomodate him.... but then he went out and got hurt in the other knee and lost basically a whole damn season, so it's like "man couldn't you have gone and done this at the end of the 12-13 season to get it out of the way?" i mean shit look at how entertaining that 2013 playoffs run was without him.... you gonna tell me that team couldn't have used a little help from derrick? he wasn't even there for them then.

so go figure that jimmy butler and others learned how to function without derrick.... and now that derrick's back it's like "hey guys get me the ball! i'm back!" and go figure the team has actually somehow developed a proper #1 scoring option in butler and they've got a legit 4 in gasol and they've got depth and role players and the wildcard in mirotic.... but derrick's stuck in OG "give it to me and get out of the way" mode and as we saw in the 2011 ECF, when that's your battle plan and the other team can guard derrick..... the bulls go SPLAT. and it's still a little scary to see so much going right with the team this year, especially offensively, yet down the stretch of tight games there's still a certain amount of "give it to derrick get out of the way and pray" going on....

and quite honestly this team can't take it to the next level if they're going to do that.... because not only is the jury still technically out on whether or not derrick CAN be that guy who takes you to the promised land in that role (because even at his pre-injury peak he wasn't good enough to get past lebron when lebron actually had a team around him. idk if lebron has that in the 14-15 cavs as presently constructed) but you have to explore just how good jimmy butler and nikola mirotic can be. those two guys hold the key to how far you can go this season and in the future (IMO), and seeing as jimmy butler's due to get paid after this year and the bulls better pay whatever it takes to keep him, that means just like the other people who use your stadium you're going to have to make some hard decisions to move some depth in order to be able to afford your stars... and this means that this year might be the deepest bulls team you're able to have over the next few years, so you gotta maximize what yu've got this year.

anyways, yes, i'm babbling and i'm clearly on drugs and dumbass n00bs wont like it. but at least ~2/5 people who actually read my drivel will know that i know what the fuck i'm talking about. and i'm getting to that new year's resolution to TLDR less starting tomorrow. 361/365 days aint too shabby, eh? =D

hey man at least i have thoughts. you might disagree with my methods of disseminating them, but at least i have them. all st louis bullshit dude contributed was LOL SINI SURE IS DIFFERENT and since he's new here i gotta let him in on a little secret: WE KNOW. EVERYBODY KNOWS! see my signup date? 2004. now granted i didnt really start posting here frequently until mid-09, still, it's not exactly the secret of NIMH that i type really really fast and tend to let that carry me beyond the 500-1000 word thresholds/barriers/whatever.

sometimes i just get annoyed that people can't help but do the whole "RUB THE DOG'S FACE IN THAT FRESH CRAP HE JUST LAID DOWN ON THE RUG!!!!" thing with TLDR/drugs/etc. seriously, try something original for a change; again, it's not like you're unearthing some secret truth about me that the board has yet to figure out. and if you're gonna go the route of "well it obviously pisses you off so i'll say that and derive entertainment from you flying off the handle in an attempt to tell me to go fuck myself" ---- well fair play i suppose.... but still don't you aspire to do something more than make a post that's already been made 1000+ times?

seriously if that LOL UR ON DRUGS!!! shit was gonna work on me it would have worked a long time ago. and i'm still here and brandishing the boundless audacity to speak my mind even if it's gonna be well-received by 1/50 people here. and in the end what am i really doing other than trying to entertain myself and shoot the shit about the bulls? thanks for doing your part to shit on that in the name of boring-ass "i got nothing to say" conformity to a standard that's clearly got better things to do on a saturday night. i don't. so in the future can you do all of us a favor and just laugh at me without making a dumbass post?

yeah you're cool, that's why i gave you a pass. you've paid your dues and thensome on this msgboard and you do your thing. god bless.

the best part is, per usual, all the stuff i laid out there in my obviously-drug-fueled-rant ended up happening just like i predicted. the bulls didn't play especially well in that overtime, in fact they started off giving the ball away like it was syphillis.... but in the end they were just better than the celtics, who shot their wad getting to overtime. evan turner might have had his ~25/+pts in the 2H+OT but he sure as hell didn't rise up and win them the game when it was time to win, eh?

and you're definitely on to something with derrick being a bit too in love with his shot. granted that last shot he hit was huge, it still took him from 4/17 to 5/18 from the field. and when you've got 1 assist in an extended-length game.... that's-a no good. i hope to god this team as a whole doesn't revert back to "give it to derrick and pray" in the waning minutes of ballgames otherwise we're not gonna do jack squat diddly shit in the playoffs.

This site is maddening! I took half an hour to type a response to sini, and when I clicked "post" I had been un-logged in and it was all LOST! That happens to me 4 or 5 times during the game. I ain't gonna re-type that shit, but I will post the pic that I closed it with. (TRIED to) It's how I visualize the guy.

When that happens just sign in and tap the back button on your browser and the post will be there. This one is free but the next one will cost you.
