Fuck. Will the Bears really go small time again and hire former employees? Fuck the McCaskeys and Ted Phillips.

So the Bears hire a consultant and they hire a guy who already worked for them for 12 years. Money well spent.

All I can find is the Haugh article speculating that it will be Ballard and Toub...2 more guys who have never done the job they are interviewing for. Fuck the McCaskeys and fire Ted Phillips.

Just speculation. His interview isn't until Wednesday.

Tonight same source said: "Chris Ballard probably gets that job & he is phenomenal. If he gets it I think he brings Dave Toub as head coach"

I saw the stuff here: http://www.windycitygridiron.com/2015/1 ... t#comments

Probably the best source in there is the guy with a "guy." maybe its the same guy as Biggie's guy.

Saw someone point out that Ballard was hired after Toub was in KC, so I wonder if they really are that connected. I'm sure it's possible, but it's not like Ballard brought him in or anything. I would assume he's just as connected with Bowles.

Why'd you sit on this one, @TheKapMan? I didn't know you did the Bulls beat.

Hiring Ballar and Toub could be the very best choice and even if they win a Super Bowl next year, this rouet only emphasizes what complete idiots Ted and George are that they hired someone to find them the few guys that they should know ....and 1 one of them know VERY well. Glad to see Ted upped his networking game.

Still don't understand this logic at all. It's better for the Bears to have smart people helping them.

As a fan who doesn't know if Phillips has any idea what he is doing, I'm thrilled they hired a consultant.

Even if they think the best was Ballard, and Ernie just confirms that after interviewing more candidates, it's money well spent.

This is the CEO of a billion dollar company. They have good people under their noses and they dont know it?

Yes, if they are the correct people, GREAT! Better than picking bad people.

But this is the industry the family is in. This isnt a hobby. if they dont know the business, get out and dont expect compliments for taking 30 years to semi admit you dont what the fuck you are doing....

NOW, if you want to tell me all the McCaskeys are involved in some other business and have been for years, thus they hire someone else to pick the best people for them, OK, then you can give them credit....this is like getting credit for a Anthony Rizzo HR because I sat in the first row of the bleachers and I didnt knock it back on the field.

AGREED

Now I just dont want to offer any credit to someone who basically is telling me they do a shit job at their job, so for that admittance, they want to give them credit for admitting it....like this is a 12 step program.

"IF" they win, "IF" they pick the right people at this point, they are basically telling me it is despite their involvement that things could work out.

There is no chance Ballard gets this job.

None.

I will take the 1000-1 odds then?

And not to get totally off topic here, but what is the job?

Why not? I hope you are right, but lots of football guys have Ballard pegged as the favorite.

The Bears owners are the worst in the league if that happens.

You sure you don't want to walk that one back, Doc? Maybe Bernstein it a little?

There is no chance Ballard gets the job at this time, though situations may change.

Doesn't sound like he's foreclosed the possibility.

btw, "circumstances" would have been a better word than situations.

I would never argue they have the correct hierarchy or people currently in place (Phillips over football decisions, for example). But with the current system as is, I am really glad they got help.

Worried about 140-character limit.
