What are you talking about? B&B have consistently delivered the desired demo. That's "the only reason" that matters. That won't change in any significant way despite you're meatball hatred.

Yes I just said that. It does not matter what the rest of the station does but if some station makes a Macky show up against B&B like Roe and Garry used to be B&B are fucked. When Mac was MJH he ruled the demo without question.

Oh and it is not meatball hatred. I listen religiously. It is disappointment.

Roe was like 27th in the market by the time Cumulus took him off the air. B&B were in the top ten. Roe was competing with the Moody Bible Institute.

My point was back then the demo game was MJH, Roe and Garry and B&B. Advertisers gave a giant fuck about the content. They and the radio owners only care how many Male 2?-54 are listening. Mac brings that right or wrong.

I love Mac, but I don't think I can sit through Bad Company and Molly Hatchet, to hear him.

You watch the yule log over the holidays?

Channel 2 showed a yule log on their big monitor overlooking Daley Center one night when I was at Christkindlemarket. I missed it on Christmas Eve. Was it on.

Howard Stern did a funny/disgusting version of the yule log with high pitch eric

I would predict a Cumulus station in Mac's future.

The Loop? That lines up with the hints people are dropping. The station has been dwindling, probably because Merlin and Cumulus have run it on the cheap with voice-tracking and have pretty much turned it into a Drive clone when it traditionally had a harder edge.

WLS-FM is going to be my guess.

Hmm. He doesn't fit in there with all the old jocks and classic WLS imaging, but then the old jocks don't fit in with the music, either, so I don't know what they're going for over there. The Loop needs the help more than WLS-FM does, I feel. WKQX is doing well, and WLS-AM is beyond help.

I did.

There was one on Netflix and Uverse had a channel.

What? You don't have a fireplace?

One doesn't preclude the other. Sometimes you just can't beat the kitschy goodness of a televised Yule log. It's like saying you can't eat grape-flavored candy while you have a bunch of perfectly good grapes.

Sounds like Mac in the mornings

from a column on CRM

"There is also talk of sister-station WLUP-FM/97.9 The Loop creating a brand new local morning show, which will feature a well-known Chicago radio name that may surprise a lot of people. (The surprise comes from that host not previously working on-air in a Classic Rock format.) However, that show, should it come together, will most likely will not begin until sometime in February. "

I don't recall Mac having a real deep knowledge of rock n' roll.

I don't recall the Loop having a deep library of rock and roll.

If Mac does mornings on the Loop, I will most likely listen to him.

I'd tune in. I realize McNeil is a bit of a caricature, but he's the reason I started consuming sports yakkers

you may be right. I haven't listened regularly since 1990. I figured they played more than AC/DC, Molly Hatchet, Mountain, Lynyrd, allmans, etc.

I would not.

I stopped listening to music 15 years ago.

I've already heard everything.

You haven't heard Frank play his bass from behind his head.

In my days of Loyal Looping, the library wasn't too bad, in all honesty. They were always really good about playing Led Zeppelin deep cuts, for example. I just like to poke fun at how they'd play "Lights Out London" or "Hair of the Dog" like every day.

I just picked up a couple of "British Invasion" DVD's. One of the Hollies and one of Herman's Hermits.

Both have 22 songs and a history of the Bands with interviews of the band members.

THAT's MUSIC!
