It is a shame that a four team playoff ruined college football...

Well, to be fair, they would be correct.

that is what is great about it. The LOWLY big 10 is taking them out

No shit. SEC repeatedly getting housed in bowl games.

I love it! The #1 team and the undefeated team both get eliminated. In the old world, those guys would have played each other and Alabama would have won by 14+, but in the new world we get to watch Oregon win a championship by 20. :)

They need to make it a 16 game playoff.

Has a college football team ever won a national championship with a 3rd string QB?

Yea, I'm rooting for Oregon. Ducks should be favored by double digits.

If the BCS was the system used this year, the National Championship Game would have been Alabama vs. Florida State.

They hang in the same vicinity as Pitt's in the 4th quarter.

Actually in all seriousness, there is about to a revolt in Iowa City. Plenty being written about it and the mood is glum after that three straight losses and the perception that the program is about to go into a dark phase with recruiting being down, poor coordinators.

The AD is probably on shaky ground too due to the contract he signed with Ferentz a few years back which has another 5-6 years on it and they will owe Kirk 2.5M each year for the next 5-6 years if they were to fire him. There is another potential issue around the handling of a field hockey coach and her firing. I think both would need to be fired as a pair. I don't see one or the other.

Lastly, the ground swell is going on again that season tickets will be down (I am considering dropping mine as well) unless changes are made. The AD made a stupid comment recently saying that the money they make up from BTN is more than the loss is ticket sales.

I was telling my son the other day, that it might be the worst contract situation of a university in all of sports. They are really getting nothing for the $4.3 per year they are paying, average coaches could do what he is doing.

The contracts were reactionary. Each time he got a bump, he was being looked at by the NFL. Iowa is a tough place to get a coach to go to and stay long term. I get that piece of it. Now they have the facilities built out, it's time to get a game changer in there to take advantage of it.
