I think Conte is their best safety, so I might keep him. Otherwise, I don't care about any of those guys. Paea is OK, but would not break the bank for that guy.

Which is why I'd be open to letting ISIS run the Bears for a few years.

yikes of that list the only players i would want to keep are:

claussen
paea
de la puenta

paea may have played his way to a big contract that they cant afford to dole out right now
de la puenta was league min last year so if you can get him again for that price i'm ok with it
claussen in his one game proved to me he can be a middle of the road backup QB... as long as tampa doesnt throw 10 mil at him sign him back for near league min

Players like Paea who have been hampered by injuries throughout their careers but then "get healthy" in a contract year scare me.

Agreed TM. I'd bring back McManis , Cain, Sharpton, and Zach Miller.

Mc Mannis and Sharpton should be easy and are guys I affirmatively want back. The Restricted guys you obviously want back as well. I don't want to lose Paea. I want to keep De la Puente but with Garza signing and Kroemer gone, I doubt he's willing to come back for the minimum.

Further evidence that tagging Cutler was the correct move. I bet Emery still has a job if he hadn't done that.

Well, nobody needs 5-7 years ... that's just ludicrous.

3 should be fine ... 4 maximum. They could contend in 2 without a great deal of luck. With competent leadership. Ooops.

McManis is the best special teamer on the team. He would only be in on DB duties if someone else was hurt or he was in on a Dime package.

Every time I see the name I think of it.

OK. Good point. Keep him for special teams.

Right. For example, more than 50 of the players on this year's Bears roster (including injured reserve) were acquired by Emery. So in three seasons, he had basically rebuilt the entire team. The problem is he accomplished that feat with mostly bad players.
