No one even knew that they were in the hunt for a GM.

Long read but a very good one. This guy is a personnel savant it appears.

The Raiders talked to him early on in the event they were going to replace their GM, but decided to keep McKenzie and offered this guy a director-type position that he turned down.

I remember reading about him and thought he looked good but his personal issues made him unlikely for the Bears.
