For the record, I like the hire.

I can't know for sure if Ballard intended to blow things up. Regardless, I was for bringing in someone from the outside and this meets my requirements.

I just don't like the rumblings that McPhillips were worried that someone wanted too much change.

Sure. Because you know you're only going to be successful if you do it they way you need to. You've seen people fail doing it the old way - that's the whole reason you'd believe you need to do things differently.

Absolutely. Was you that posted there are only 4 retread GMs in the NFL? If I only get one shot then I want everything done my way. Failure is 100% on me then.

I generally agree but there are only a handful of these jobs. It's like running for a political office. You say what you need to say to get in and then do what you think is right once you get the position.

Listening to JD and Fred right now. They replayed some NFL insider from Waddle and Silvy's show. I was half listening so didn't hear who it was. But he said Ballard told Teddy and George that he would move on from Jay Cutler.

So just wondering if him saying that didn't sit well with them. Maybe they wanted the guy that wanted to make it work with Cutler. At least for a year.

What I'm really in awe of is as fucked up as the Bears are, they interview just 2 guys and hire a GM :shock: I would had 10-12 guys come in!The 1st guy they talked to the hire.....the Bears Management could run a Dunkin' Donuts!
