He didn't demand that Ted Phillips gets fired.

Shit can him!

He may be great, etc. but I bet he also came cheap. And you know that appealed to Sweaty Teddy and George McCaskey.

I hope he works out but with Phillips still in the picture, I have serious doubts.

I am numbed from the season to this entire process.

I hope to have feeling back in time for the draft.

Someone else will have to create fire threads

Hopefully his floor is Jerry Angelo. Hopefully the next heas coach floor is Lovie Smith. Remember when we hated them?

Scouting has been an issue for years. These people should have been fired a decade ago.

Well isn't Ballard a former Bears scout? He wouldn't have helped the issue.

I wasn't impressed by any candidates. There were no Theos or Jeds out there.

Ballard at least found some really good to great players when he was a scout but I agree.

I'm guessing some will stay, but there isn't a chance in hell PACE or any other candidate says "sure I'll take the job" without bringing in ANY of his guys. Just because current scouts stay doesn't mean PACE has to listen to them.
Pace is the GM. He'll make the decisions and listen to who he's comfortable listening to.

Biggs said personnel contracts aren't up until late spring. That's when the changes in scouts will occur.

You can pay them to go away.

Fine, pay them to go away right now. Who is available right now to take their places in time for the draft?

but this way you get to have another team come to you asking for permission to talk to the coaches and when they sign them, you are off the hook on paying them.

Like I have said, they are so sly when it comes to business dealings.

I thought Nas was talking about the scouts, not the assistant coaches.

Yes he was, no doubt every scout should be fired, but even then, they all have info on the players they liked, now you need the scouts to bring in the players they like.

Plus you need to go hire new guys and if a guy is doing a good job elsewhere, they are going to give that guy a raise and lock him up.

This is all part of tearing it down, need to take a step backwards.

But you hope case brings some research on guys he wants

I have some time off available.

There are some guys I'd like to question at the combine.

Why not? If they know they won't be retained they are going to sabotage the process anyway. He worked in the Saints front office and should have information on all the prospects. I don't want bad scouts giving our GM even worse information. Call GD and Doc for advice.

Also, you let go of everyone who has your notes. I understand, but you need your own people in the building if any real change is going to happen.

Lets be clear. Players in the draft must PLAY!

The press conference tomorrow will be interesting. The audio clips they played didn't sound overly impressive for a guy that "blew away" George McCaskey.

This franchise just doesn't seem to get it and nothing probably will change until they sell. Don't they have major tax issues once Virginia bites the dust??

My Bears guy--who was in the room--tells me that both George and Ginny were blown away by his 5-day plan for nailing Cheryl Scott. I hope I didn't just out myself.

Very very sad but very very Bears.

Teddy is in charge and hires "his boy".

To say George Halas is spinning in his grave is the understatement of the millennium.
