yesterday, heard Mr Bernstein explain that it would be stupid for the media to ask him about Cutler because this is a long term project and the Bears knows this, its why they hired him.

So, will someone ask Ted, assuming ted will be in the vicinity, the Ted claimed they expected a quick turnaround in his last presser and said other teams have turned it around in one year?

Addtionally, first thing this morning, Mully and Hanley both said the first question will be how does he intend to handle the Jay Cutler deal?

At least we should see how Mr Pace handles some fire on Day 1. This aint the Big Ez.

He will win the press conference by vaguely answering Cutler questions and will bask in the glow of his new gig until at least the day after the draft in May.

Want I want asked:

what he plans to do with the scouting department?

does he have a list of coaches he wants to interview?

What his is philosphy for building a team (strong defense? anchor certain positions with great players build off that?)

How will he interact with a coach... will coaches be allowed to make all decisions as it relates to sundays or will he meddle like emery did?

Good questions.

I'd also like to know if he has any experience scouting or drafting players.

You'd be a horrible reporter to not ask him about Jay Cutler, considering he represents the single biggest issue facing the team at this moment both financially and on the field.

...and also considering that quarterback is the most important position on any NFL team.

He could win the press conference by bringing Jay Cutler out and then punching him right in the face.

If I hear Pace say that this team isn't far away, I'm going to be very worried.

I think he'll defer to the head coaching hire needing to be done before he can address it.

I'll be shocked if he doesn't glowingly talk about what a great talent Jay Cutler is and how excited he is to put a team around him to succeed...and that's exactly what he should say.

At some point he will use the phrase "bilging the process." Is there a prop on that?

My antenna will be tuned in for business jargon. When a guys tries to sounds smart you know you're fucked. Keeping it simple is key. The Eastern education with Stanford program makes this interesting.

Just say we will be tough, bring the pain and win the Super Bowl.

I suppose you're right, but I doubt the Bears will get much in return for Cutler regardless of how enthusiastically Pace speaks about Cutler.

If the word "synergy" is articulated in any way, be afraid... be very afraid.

Here's a question that should be directed to the McPhillips Albatross: Why did you hire someone from the Saints, which is not one of the NFL's most successful franchises?

Phillips just said that he, George, and Ernie Accorsi will be involved in future coaching candidate interviews. WTF?

I like how he keeps referencing 2005.

2005.
