Teddy has ultimate control over the takeout menu drawer.

Ah, you want that guy? Good resume but there's no money in the budget. Sorry.

Maybe it is a good thing Ted looked for someone he can loom over and didnt evaluate the guys ability to find talent.

Superbowl!

He was the pro player guy, not the college scout guy.

He said that the Saints' college and pro scouting departments were blended, so he's been involved with scouting throughout his career.

So the logical question to ask, then, is this: "Which Saints players are you partially or fully responsible for drafting?"

If he says Brandin Cooks, that is a nice start

He was 'excited" though.

So do you still feel good about the Bears organization, the McCaskeys & sweaty Teddy?

Not really. I just don't want to assess his performance before he has had a chance to actually make a decision. I don't think there is much you can gauge about how he'll perform from listening to him speak at a press conf. The stuff about the McCaskey and Phillips and their interference is definitely legit and needs to be examined. It is no doubt that they will have influence though. Will their influence prevent him from doing his job is the larger issue. If he'd stated that they are not going to have input he would not have been believed anyway.

I didn't hear the press conference but I'm reading this thread and listening to the radio and I don't know who I should believe. Everyone here says he sucked and the Score is telling me he was great.

Why is public speaking so difficult for people who have aspirations for jobs like this?

He is young and in a new role, I am sure nerves were very present. No matter the training, it will still come out.

It's not like he constantly stammered and stuttered or anything. He sounded a bit nervous is all. B&B are happy for the same reason I am: he did manage to avoid sounding like a total boob.

Okay. So I need to listen to the interview. Reading this thread led me to believe he came off like Trestman.

Sounded way better in the phone interview. Was pretty nervous during the press conference.

Did the press conference start right at the scheduled time?

CBS Radio has a contractual relationship with the Bears. Consequently, the station's employees probably aren't the best source of objective opinions about the team. Remember when everyone on the Score thought Emery was going to be a great GM?

Kind of makes you wonder about the Bears signaling that it was okay to take off the kid gloves with Trestman.

We have only heard from 1 of our 2 Saints fans and he was glad to see him gone. WZ is witholding comment at the moment.

Pace could be a complete genius, its just not what Ted and George said they wanted to do.

They set out looking for this Czar and got the Prince.

Doesnt mean the guy doesnt know players and if he is great, Phillips will be moved over, like it or not when the guy asks for him to be moved.

Pace is the guy. If he lets Ted, George, or Uncle Ernie dictate/influence him to select a coach he doesn't want, than it's on Pace. If he wants Adam Gace, go get Adam Gace.

He is the GM of the team. It will be his decision to relinquish power. I don't care if he promised Teddy about some type of "shared" power. He has the job now.

Watching the presser video... Someone needs to tell Ted that the three button suits went out of fashion right around the same time Bigsby and Kruthers went bankrupt.

Also, why is he sounding like a very angry man?

Like Pace's presence, but his speechwriter may have been a software program pulling from a database of cliches.

Because according to Dan, Ted does not like dealing with football stuff. He was forced at gunpoint to head up that press conference.
