Just an impressive team. Maybe it is Belichick, or Brady, whatever it is, they dont run the ball once (Except Brady sneak) in second half to win the game. Unlike the Jonas Grey game of runnng the noname back for 200 yards. Brady running no huddle deep TD to Lafell, calling hot route to Gronk on a no look hand signal after seeing Balt blitz, the backwards pass to Edelman and even the old man Brady running in from 4 yards out.

B&B have been getting this done for 14 years now? After being a 6th round QB Pick and while that story is easy to say Belichick got lucky, he kept Brady on as a 4th active QB. Thats not just taking a flyer on David Fales in the 7th round, thats keeping an extra valuable roster spot for a 6th rounder who might not play.

Patriots scout wanted Tim Rattay, Belichick wanted Brady and the story is written.

That's one hell of a marriage. That offense doesn't have any really good talent beyond Gronk and Brady. He makes bums look good. Edelman is just a guy and he looks like a stud with Brady. No other great QB in the NFL has done more with less. He really should be the MVP.

I agree but why do they have to cheat ALL THE TIME?

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick has been accused of cheating again. Quick, someone get Don Shula's reaction.

Wait, we know what it'll be.

Something like this: Yawn.

Just a few days after Shula, the legendary Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Colts head coach, referred to Belichick as "Beli-cheat," Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said the Patriots used illegal plays in their 35-31 victory in the divisional playoff game on Saturday night.

With the Ravens bringing a dominating pass rush, the Patriots countered by taking an offensive lineman off the field and replacing him with another position player. But the Patriots, by rule, must declare which player is ineligible — and they were waiting until the last second to do that, preventing the Ravens from making adjustments, Harbaugh said.

He insisted the Patriots should have been penalized for their "deceptive" formations and substitutions.

"It's not something that anybody has ever done before," Harbaugh said. "They're an illegal type of a thing and I'm sure that [the NFL will] make some adjustments and things like that.

"We wanted an opportunity to be able to identify who the eligible players were because what they were doing was they would announce the eligible player and [Patriots quarterback] Tom [Brady] would take it to the line right away and snap the ball before [we] even figured out who was lined up where. And that was the deception part of it. It was clearly deception."

On one play, back Shane Vereen was on the line but ineligible and Michael Hoomanawanui — lined up at left tackle spot — caught a pass. Harbaugh was so uset he ran onto the field and was slapped with a 15-yard penalty.

"The officials told me after that they would give us the opportunity to do that, which they probably should have done during that series, but they really didn't understand what was happening," Harbaugh said. "I had to go take the penalty to get their attention so they can understand what was going on."

The drive ended in a Patriots touchdown, but the Patriots — convicted by the NFL in the Spygate video scandal involving the Jets in 2007 — aren't likely to face discipline.

After the victory, quarterback Tom Brady fired back at the Ravens.

"Maybe those guys got to study the rule book and figure it out," Brady said. "We obviously knew what we were doing and we made some pretty important plays. It was a real good weapon for us. Maybe we'll have something in store next week."

It's not cheating at all.

if the colts play the same kind of man to man D they played against Denver today they can beat brady..... brady has been awful on any throw traveling 20 yards downfield... today the colts challenged manning to connect on deep passes and he couldnt... i'd expect them to do the same to brady.

Crazy if Luck could beat them but the Great Peyton Manning couldn't all those years.

it sounds like they weent declaring as ineligible until after the huddle.... NFL should require they do so before they enter the huddle and the deceptive part goes away... even better would be making them wear some kind of temp jersey or something ebut that wouldnt work

The problem is Hoodie and the gang know this will be what they try to do and have a week to prepare for it. They game plan for individual opponents as well as anyone in the league.

Is Belichick that smart or are most coaches just dumb? I suspect the NFL is largely a "half of life is showing up" crowd. For all the talk about how NFL coaches spend 22 hours a day watching game film or whatever, it rarely seems to show. I bet they're just watching porn.

I hate the Partiots....but that is because they play in Boston and I hate all Boston teams because:
a) It's Boston
b) my ex Father-in-Law is from New England and he's a pain in the ass with all things sports

i can't help but respect Bellichek and it seems to me he takes it in the ass from the media and others in the NFL.

I'm sure he's a salty, unpleasant person but I don't think he does anything that's not done by other coaches and his resume speaks for itself. I recently read that he is the only active NFL head coach that refuses to be part of the coaches union. I imagine this is highly frowned upon by his peers and the media.

Vontae Davis is playing the best CB in the NFL right now so part of the plan better be not to go to his side

I actually have little problem with cheating in a low-morality arena like NFL Football.

Once again great for BB and the Pats. He always has something that the other team has never seen and uses it at the right time.

If it was frivolous then why would they do it?

Why don't we just let them put out a completely uninflated ball for running plays! Imagine how hard it would be to fumble if you can hold it like a frisbee!
