Even without his time in Denver, what he did in Carolina was pretty impressive.

He arrived to a crapfest and had them in the playoffs in like 2 years.

He also took over a 1-15 Carolina squad, and had them in the Super Bowl a mere two years later. With Jake Delhomme at QB.

Smoke some more weed, Ike. Then take a walk into heavy traffic.

that's well below average relative to today's NFL franchise turnaround benchmarks.

Yes, but not with Manning at QB.

Don't forget who Jake Delhomme was throwing to. I could win playoff games if I had Steve Smith on the receiving end of my passes.

Elway agrees with me

Quote:
Elway said Tuesday he was disappointed the Broncos didn't display "more fire" against the underdog Colts, especially coming off a bye.

Quote:
"At least in that last game, you want to feel like you go out kicking and screaming when you're right there," Elway said. "And I think two years in a row it didn't feel like we went out kicking and screaming."

DO. NOT. HIRE.

He may not be perfect, but he's the best option out there at this time.

he's a slight upgrade on lovie smith... but agree best candidate left. a lot of his former staffers have gotten jobs so it bodes well that he can put together a coaching staff unlike emery/trestman

his first peyton season is worht noting... because if his safety doesnt stumble like an idiot on the Joe Flacco-Jacoby Jones bomb at the end of the game who knows how far that team goes.

THAT IS NOT A GOOD EXCUSE FOR MEDIOCRITY

IF HES THE BEST, AND WE KNOW HE WONT TAKE US ANYWHERE BUT 'ACCEPTABLE', THEN WHY THE FUCK DONT WE JUST HIRE SOME GREENHORN AND HOPE IT WORKS OUT. IM TIRED OF OVERPAYING FOR MEDIOCRITY. IT HAS GOT TO STOP. IF YOURE GOING TO PAY TOP DOLLAR, YOU BETTER BE GETTING SOMEONE WHO HAS A HIGH CHANCE OF A SUPERBOWL WIN.

Hiring John Fox could be a really bad idea for the Chicago Bears, especially if they are doing it to offset the inexperience of recently Saints player personnel director Ryan Pace as their new general manager, Chicago Sun-Times columnist Hub Arkush writes.
