I'm ridding myself of all contrived conventions. Next time I fly I'm gonna wear just a diaper and a goldenboy. And in the next gubernatorial election I'm voting for the guy who wears the inappropriately casual collar and doesn't know his left hand from his right.

Acknowledging conventions is different from championing them .

Without conventions where are we? It would be bedlam out there. Conventions are the grease for the wheels of society. I was shocked to discover that there are CSFMB members who actually refuse to say hello.

I'm with you. I refuse to pump my own gas to this day.....I just pull in and sit and wait for them to come and fill 'er up.
Sometimes I am there for hours.

That's pretty dumb. Aren't you a superintendent of schools or something? No wonder we're turning out kids who refuse to say hello.

It's all principle, JORR. You should be on board with this.
We all used to get full-service gas all the time, and they slowly made us do it ourselves.
Hell, I might as well birth my own kids on my dining room table while my neighbors watch!

Helpful as always. they are okay but most of the time I would rather go somewhere else for the same type of meal.

Probably. Most stuff is better than Chili's. What I was trying to say is I've never been hugely impressed with the some of the places downtown. I'm also not wowed by a lot of restaurants people rave about.

After further research, it appears other locations are on the horizon. Also opening a spot in Indianapolis. I wonder if they sold the name to a group with plans to take to nationally.

10. Cheesecake Factory

Applebee's is okay because sometimes they'd have all-you-can-eat riblets and I'd eat all the riblets. Other than that, though, they have no value in this world.

Worst:
1. Olive Garden
2. TGI Friday's
3. Buffalo Wild Wings - holy shit, are they overpriced for what they are
4. Ruby Tuesday
5. Chili's
6. Applebee's
and after that it's all just whatever

I have two bad/good stories from Olive Garden (my wife's grandma loved that place):

1. I ordered some kind of pasta with shrimp. About halfway through the meal I discover that one of the shrimp has a sticker stuck to it that says "best if used by (day before I was eating it)"

2. We got soup instead of salad with our breadsticks. They bring out the soup and a bunch of forks because they were "all of out spoons".

I'm more in line with CH on this one. TGI, Chili's and Applebee's are all owned by the same conglomerate so they are pretty much the same. I do love how the commercials are always advertising some form of "STEAK, CHEESE AND SHRIMP IN A SAUCE!!!" like it's some breathtaking masterpiece. I like BWW's but it is waaaay over priced and would be off the list if it wasn't for that. Olive Garden is the pits, though. After that there is the blob of stuff.

Haven't been to Oregon in a few years, but the times I've been there, you were legally prohibited from pumping your own petrol. Same shit in Jersey.

Yeah, it's still that way in Oregon. Was a pain in the ass when I was looking for somewhere to fill up a rental car at 3:30 in the morning. Not many gas stations open at that time.

If it's Portland, you can drive across to Vancouver and time travel to the 21st century.
