Bernstein made it up, and then tried to make it a "thing" by indirectly forcing his cronies like LoHo to use the term incessantly.

"Win the press conference" is a sports radio invention to make the otherwise meaningless a little less meaningless.

It's like the sports radio equivalent of best and worst dressed lists. Two days later no one cares but it sure is fun to call people stupid and ugly for 48 hours.
