Kaplan trumping Adam Schefter. Finally one in the win column for the local guys.

There really needs to be some accountability for people "breaking stories", especially on air. It would be nice if you had to attach an official record of correct v. incorrect to all of your Twitter posts so that all would know your relative reliability. It would be better for the entire news producing world as there would be more of a premium on being correct versus being quick.

HELL YEA! Finally, the Bears will return to an aggressive attacking blitzing defense. Vic runs a 3-4 zone blitz scheme, with an occasional 4-3. The Bears not drafting CJ Mosley looks like an even worse decision now.

Wise move not getting Dennis Allen. He only had one season as DC under Fox. His defensive schemes in OAK were horrible.

His D was solid even with the rash of injuries. Excited to see a bit of a 3-4/4-3 hybrid here.

I Predict....

Bears take a stand up DE and OLB with their first two picks now.

I'd expect Vig Fangio and Ed Donatell to agree to join the Skins coaching staff by Tues AM. Would be very surprised if they did not

Nice move by the Bears. They're having a real nice offseason. Very surprising.

Fixed.

Need a Von Miller/Aldon Smith-type. Hi Shane Ray!

BRING ALDON SMITH WITH... that way B&B can be excited about the move... then in two years make upa narrative that he is an assbag locker room cancer that the bears owners want removed (if Ryan pace is ok with that of course because he is in charge)

This definitely gives them more and better options at the 7 spot for guys like Ray or Fowler, neither of which was probably going to fit in their traditional-style of defense but seem like they would be perfect for Fangio. I think one of those guys would probably be there, too. I'm guessing Fowler. Those guys can both play all over the place.

Fowler would seem like a no brainer now if there at 7.

Sounds like Gace isn't coming...which is fine with me. May end up with Chud as OC.

This is an exciting time to be a Bears fan.

I just said the same thing....hoping that either he or Randy Gregory will still be there at 7.

There is no one at the Score that can hold Bernsy or Terry accountable.

Real glad to see Fangio coming here.

It's weird seeing everyone praise this hire. Pace, Fox and Fangio have been largely praised as great moves. So not Bears. Makes me feel itchy.

I don't see how Fangio survives Cutler as QB. Nobody is safe.

The Bears finally learned their lesson. No more coaching reaches and experiments. Gotta give them credit for realizing that they needed to completely change their hiring philosophy.

My take is I have no idea about Pace and am currently skeptical due to his previous work. Fox was a good hire, not a great hire. I think Fangio is about as good as you were going to get.

I hope so.

But Bostic actually seemed to be devoid of any football sense.

I think so too, and most importantly we are finally going to get to see if some of these guys can actually play football at a pro level. I don't trust Tucker or any of his staff to be able to see that or put guys in the right positions.

I think Jones, Fuller, and possibly Vereen can excel in this new system

Next year the defense will still be pretty bad. Year 2 it could be nasty.

There's literally no DL players of note on the roster.

Jason La Canfora is the one who actually broke this story. Kaplan references him as the source in the tweet:

I disagree. There is some talent on the DL that could look much better with some actual coaching.

I want to agree with you but I also hold out hope that Tucker and his shit scheme kept some players hidden from us as far as true talent level.
