I thought this was the most intriguing part of the presser today, that Fox actually took time to address a player who retired two years ago. You would think that he has more important things on his mind at the moment. My impression is that he wants to rebuild that bridge to bring him back for at least one more year. Urlacher couldn't be any worse than anyone that have on the roster now and he probably does have a year or two left in him physically before he's completely kaputt.

Now, it does mean that Urlacher will be in the Bears family again. Cuz the two people he hated, Emery and Trestman, are gone.

He might go to some games. I know the Bears aren't retiring numbers ever again. But they can have an Urlacher "We love you" ceremony at halftime. He'll give a speech. It will be bad and nobody will understand what he said. But the 62k in the crowd will go nuts.

So everybody will have this if it's important to you.

Hell, when Reinsdorf finally is done with Konerko ceremonies he can do an Urlacher ceremony as well.

Ted won't approve an expense to procure an Urlacher sized supply of bronze for a statue. It ain't a Rensdorf celebration if there is no lifesized statue!

He can teach the young pups how much Toradol to use and where best to stick the needle.

I don't think the Bears are going to give Urlacher a meaningful job, nor should they. They'll just let him hang out at training camp and stuff, be a team ambassador or whatever. As an organization, you should try to be on good terms with your best players.
