a healthy OL and Marshall looked pretty elite two years ago

Get them a RT and this offense is ready to compete with anyone each week.

Bernstein came away looking a lot better than Speigs. Spiegs came off looking like a sensitive child.

What's annoying about this, to me at least, is that it conveinently happened with Mannelly out of the office. Because when its Speigel vs Berns it's just two nobodies who don't know anything bouncing off each other's (disproportionately sized) tits. Let Mannelly say it to Dan himself, that'd be much better.

I feel like Spiegel is one of those guys who argues to get to his own end - like he's already pre-argued this in his head and he know what he wants it to lead to even if it doesn't get there, really.

I think Spiegel really wanted to call Bernstein out on that thing at the end where he said he was condescending and arrogant or whatever. He said it two or three times. He'd do better to actually react to the BS Bernsie was spewing but it didn't really seem like he was doing that.

Felt like 2 people having 2 different conversations.

It also was simply a reaction to Bernstein calling Charlie Weis fat, which makes it even more sad.

It's like he went home and went to his notebook of hot takes about Bernstein and pulled out his A material to get revenge for him daring to call known assbag Charlie Weis fat.

I think Meat did fine. Just going to bat against Bernsie is a thing no one else is willing to do. Terry chimed in with a couple of his I have to work with him things as well. It just showed me Bernsie is a bit when he said he does this or will do this on the air but never in person.

And the line about it not bothering Spiegs outside of the studio is a load of crap bigger than the Purple One himself. You know that shit affects him. He sounded like a caller with "I feel so much better when I shut my radio off" comment.

Yea, he did alright. It's hard to argue with someone as selfish and rude as Bernstein. Professionally he does not care about anyone else but himself. Not easy dealing with those types at all.

Which is another thing to call him out on. The whole "I'm only an asshole at work" means, hey, you're an asshole.

I'm sure my job would be easier if I was a complete assbag to everyone I worked with but I choose not to do that. But, if I did, that would make me a assbag because that's even worse because that's an actual choice I'm making.

The on-air persona is now not only irreconcilable with the off-air person, but the act has become something that doesn't even occupy our plane of existence. He's taken it too far.

I wonder if at some point Bernsie will evolve yet again as his son starts wanting to listen to daddy?

I'm just listening to this now. bernstein keeps insisting Pace is in full control but says "Ted says, 'I want Marshall gone' and George says, 'I want Marshall gone', but 'You can do what you want.'"

That's like your boss telling you he wants you to come in on Saturday, but "Do whatever you want." Pace is clearly not in full control if bernstein's guy is correct.

seeing as bernstein has never really worked for a living he may not understand how things operate. if ginny said she wants marshall GONE, he will be gone. don't back track on it. nobody's gonna turn down a job to keep Brandon Marshall around.

He should have picked a lane. Now, no matter what happens, he's wrong.

I don't think he wanted to say it, but it sounds like he thinks Marshall is gone but that Pace gets to "make the decision" as in "We don't want it to look like Pace isn't in control but in this one decision it has already been made".

Going forward, Pace will make all decisions but this one predates him being here.

I must have missed the fireworks yesterday, seems a little strained but polite. They are discussing Marcin Gortat watching porn.

You are truly the board lawyer with the most maleable of arguments to support Dan. Only Beerstain injects more qualifiers while insisting someone wrong and he therefore by default (his own personal scoring system) right and the winner. Other than Trestman, something everyone knew was needed but few believed a Bears (history) reality, what else has he been on the money about?

In the bigger scheme, this isn't a rebuild coming but a "retool" by hiring (for the first time) an NFL coach with contacts to run his system now. The franchise has too much invested and too much tossed aside or poorly invested to just eat money and losses. The money has been spent and squandered, Ginny doesn't need to spend next season watching losses. She sure as shit doesn't want to travel to Wisconsin to hand out the family trophy.

He hadn't really been in the lead on stories before so that isn't a fair question.

So are you now saying that the desire to cut Marshall was a lie from the start?

I understand if you think that the power given to Pace to keep Marshall means Dan was wrong that Marshall was gone no matter what but do you honestly believe that there was not any time when they wanted Marshall gone?

Holy shit. Miss a little, miss a lot. I flew to Richmond, VA Wednesday for 2 days of corporate strategy meetings, so no time for the board. I hate it when work gets in the way. Wow. I gotta find the podcast of this. I still don't understand Mr. sensitivity making a fat joke with a fat guy in the room. Berns is low class.
