Was at Dicks recently and noticed the new Titleist cart bags. I have had a carry bag for years now but
since I use my wheels almost exclusively ( I carried once last year ) I'd like to have a little bigger bag
to carry rain gear and towels in a bit easier. It is a decent size right in between a carry and staff bag and
fits on my wheels perfectly. I have decided I will get it but I need to lose 15 lbs first so I am using it as
a kind of incentive to get my ass in gear and start getting ready for golf season.

Not sure what color I would go with yet, plus I am sure other manufacturers make them as well. I like
the padded club separators and extra large pockets.

I was kicking myself for not getting out and hitting golf balls at some point this weekend.
I played golf News Years Day back in the mid 90s in Waukegan but I don't remember this
late in January in which the weather was actually mild enough to hit a bucket and not be
freezing cold.

I haven't either and usually don't until March. Excited for the upcoming season as I
have been in many years. Got the info I need to sign up for Wisconsin State Amateur and
Match Play tournaments. Just need to pull the trigger when registration opens. If I can
somehow qualify for the State Am this year it is being played at Erin Hills.

Pretty unique idea here. Hogan used to make a very solid club when I was growing up in
the late 80's, early 90s. I like the new look.

I had a old Hogan 53 wedge when I was growing up(the fifty three was written in red cursive along the back). Had it regrooved so many times it was about done, but I lost it. It took me forever to find another wedge that I liked.

Going to get clubs regripped. This year I want to go up to mid size from standard. Any drawbaks you guys know of. According to the charts I should use them and hope it improves my shots.

I LOVE this concept. I saw the pictures last week, but didn't pay attention and notice the lofts. The stock shafts are quality as well. I was really close to buying a set of Hogans 15 or so years ago. I'm better with chunky, wide-soled irons right now, but I could see going this route if my ball-striking magically improves.

It may have the effect of making your swing less "handsy." For example, people that hook the ball from turning their hands over sometimes play a larger grip or go with more wraps of tape. Try it on one club before re-gripping the whole set.

I'd agree with Furious. I have been using mid-sized for the last 3 seasons or so and have noticed a little
less movement on my right to left shots. Still comes down to your swing, and while I don't have huge hands
it feels more comfortable to me and makes me feel like I have more control over the clubs.

Yep.

pittmike, you also need to pay attention to the inside diameter of the grips you are buying. Most are .600, but a .580 will make the grip play larger than standard. The stock Callaway grip is .610 and fits my girl-sized hands perfectly. They are also ribbed (for my pleasure). Mild case of OCD has prevented me from using Cally grips on Mizuno irons, but that's going to change.

I also use a few extra wraps on the lower half of my wedges so I can grip down with the feel changing.

Thanks guys. I figured I would gain hand control as I do tend to hook if my hands are not perfect every time. I will double check the diameters too. I have been looking at some that are all weather as well. They have some nice rubbery ones that are not too hard so that you lose your grip. Not sure until I feel them in store.

Cleaning your grips every few rounds makes a huge difference and restores the tackiness. Warm water. mild dish soap and a gently abrasive Scotchbrite pad will work wonders. Just hold them upside-down and be careful not to get water in the hole on top of the grip (possibly cause damage/rust if it runs down to the clubhead).

I still say the greatest hole in one of all time was mine just cause it was mine. And the orange top flite X-out ball in the trophy case is like a permanent "fuck you" to golf sensibilities.

Just watched it again.

His 2nd putt (for birdie) from maybe a whisker outside of 6-feet, downhill toward the water.
4 putts after that, he was in. The 2nd and 3rd putts from there did indeed lip-out.
That is unbelievable.

He was putting for eagle, ended up with double. Wow.
