Watching the FOOD PARADISE show and the American obsession with big food = quality is just all wrong and speaks of COSTCO and Walmart.

Watching some place that serves a BLT with a pound of Bacon and a Sundae with a gallon of ice cream?

Sandwiches with pounds of meat!

Burgers that you need to share?

Are we over the Fascination of a big serving yet???

Honestly feel sorry for these people that come to eat mass quantities.

Does this even look close to good?

Go big or go home. Who doesn't want their face on the wall at Lucky's?

I tried to go big and eat the Ethel once. I barely was able to go home afterward.

That's a different concept. Going for the goal of a man v food venture.

Its nice that there are places that cater to the likes of Grimace. You don't want to back up the kitchen making him 10 different entrees.

There's this chain in the Saginaw area of Michigan, Tony's, home of the 'giant steak sandwich.'

My wife gets a BLT and it has at least a half lb of bacon on it, I get a 'giant steak sandwich' which is really just a hamburger with marinara and cheese. Also ridiculously oversized. Pretty good and cheap but too big.

My kids' high school concession stand sells the Titan Burger, a one pound patty, at select home games. Actually a good deal, as it is cheaper than 4 quarter-pound cheeseburgers. I could pound one myself, but nowadays, I defer to the younger guys. Always good to see the visiting team chowing down during the JV portion of a season-opening tourney, gotta figure one of those in your gut cuts down on your vertical!

Another accetapble variation as I assume fundraising is part of this gimmick. Once you cant hold the burger, it becomes excessive.

Had dinner in far northern Minnesota this past summer near the Boundary Waters. Went to a
place famous for their large burgers. Their regular burgers are all 1/2 pound patties. Anyway
they have a 4 lb burger with 1 lb of cheese, lettuce, Tomato and Mayo. If you can finish it in
30 minutes or less you get a t-shirt.

I used to spend a few summers up there.
Grandparents stayed at Silver Rapids Lodge every year.

What is Mangino up to these days. He was a very good coach as Kansas was dog shit when he got there and returned to dog shit after he left. Other coaches who make mistakes seem to get jobs and I wonder why you never hear of him in the running for anything

Iowa State. He had several incidents before the final straw at Kansas though.

I think he has issues with treatment of players and people in general. Isn't that why he and Kansas parted ways? Maybe the problems he causes outweighs the benefits.

Stony Ridge Resort. They call the burger the Sasquatch. It was a pretty interesting place overall.
My fiancée's parents go up there every year and we joined them this year.
