I read each player on the winning team gets 55k the losers get $28k

Can you imagine if the stakes were up to $500k or even a $1M per winning player and nothing for the losers?

that kind of payout would probably lead to a very watchable product... would be compelling too because younger guys on their rookie deals would be gunning for the extra cash. Move it back to 2 weeks after superbowl so all of the selected players could participate. Never going to happen but it would be awesome to watch

i like the idea. $1mil for the winners and big fat "hey, you got a paid vacation" for the losers.

I'd love to see them incorporate college players entering the draft. Maybe not 1st round grade guys, but 2nd's and 3rd. Mix them with the normal Pro Bowlers and will serve as an opportunity for them to prove themselves against NFL competition/improve their draft stock.

Can be flexible each year pending who makes the team and decides to sit out etc.

what if they elected a college draft team every year? fuck the money, the pros wouldnt want to lose to college kids, and the kids would want to beat the pros.

didn't they used to do that from the 20s or 30s all the way up until the 60s or 70s? it was the NCAA all stars versus an NFL team in the preseason and i think that ran its course by the mid-70s at the latest. i think the college kids ended up winning 1 or maybe 2 of them when it was all said and done.

...or maybe that's the joke and i just missed it?

you know i vaguely remember that too. im not old and decrepit though so the memories are few between. i think in todays world the college kids would win some for the simple fact that they care a lot more about it. and theyre on roids just like the pros too.

You mean a college kid about to get drafted and make a few mill? But he is going to play for $5Ok and risk anything?

I like the idea...I've always thought that's the way boxing should be. Instead of Mayweather or Tyson getting $20m guaranteed and the opponent getting relatively little, put all the money at stake, with the winner getting almost everything and the loser getting something like $100k for expenses.
