Every time I leave my house through the back door there's a bird calling out there that sounds like a car attempting to start with a bad battery. It may be a kestrel, but I'm not sure. Any thoughts?

After some research I believe it may be an American Kestrel.

That sounds more like somebody arming and disarming their alarm repeatedly.

I have a bird guy, I just didn't know how to bring it into casual conversation.
