Only (1) No. 4 seed has ever won the NBA championship. THere has also only been (1) No. 6 seed that has won the championship. No (7) and (8) seeds have ever won. There has only been (7) No. 3 seeds that have won. (10) No. 2 seeds have won while (48) No. 1 seeds have won the championship. There has never been a No. (5) seed that has won. This notion that you can simply rest players during the regular season yet still win an NBA championship is pure and utter bullshit. The Spurs did it while maintaining a No. 1 seed status. Let's see if they can do it this yr as they hover around a 5 or 6 seed. Bernstein and others have promoted this as a way of excusing themselves from actually having to watch the games. The regular season does matter. There are a lot of reasons that it matters. It astounds me that he has been allowed to spew this bullshit without someone calling him on it.

You're kind of missing the point. By saying that the regular season doesn't matter you are implying that an 8 th seed can win the championship once the get to the playoffs. That has never happened. The regular season determines who the better teams are thus it matters.

thibs is the best coach in chicago. you gotta be fucking stupid to think hes the problem. teams go through lulls all the time. the cavs did it this year and a few good games in a row now all is forgotten. and the bulls arent even in a lull right now. they do one thing they shouldnt- play to their competition. im sure pax feels that is ok, and thibs cant stand it. oh well. they are both pros and will work through it because nobody wants to play the bulls in the playoffs.
