Today when Mr. North blessed us with his opinion about Joe Torre, he stated "I know what he is going through and when a big company offers you less money than you have been making for no reason, it is just a matter of pride and you leave."

Hmm, who else could he be talking about?

This is not the first time he has mentioned an athlete or coaches plight to himself.

Nothing is better though when he compares himself to David Letterman.

'All that guy does is end up second and makes $25 Million"

Maybe Mike should read more top 10 lists and Jen can laugh at themk like she has never seen them or heard them, even though I am guessing she printed them out.

Pappy is so stupid. Listen to his logic.

"Well Letterman is 2nd and he gets 25 million. So why can't I suck and make millions too."

That's his fucking logic.

Hey Pappy, they are cutting your pay because it was a mistake to give you that in the first place. You always get killed by your direct competition. A national show. Figure it out. You're lucky to get any offer. You idiot. Who the hell else wants you?

regardless, you know this will be better drama than the show.

If I was North I would figure a way to turn it into a reality show.

"CONTRACT TIME" Every Tuesday at Midnight on WCIU!

It _is_ a reality show, albeit on the radio, and only if I can't find the knobs on the radio...

He does talk about it alot, not in a direct method, but much more that he is comparing himself to anyone with a contract issue.

He talked about Erstad accepting less and less money, he mentions his himself as an example and continues to drop his own situation as one comparable to people like Letterman, Joe Torre.

He has hired Eddie V. Spaceball, his wife and I am guessing somewhere a real attorney so far to work on his new deal.

Any progress?

I laugh when North compares himself to a Dahl, Brandmeier or Phillips. Mike hasnt sniffed those type of ratings and will never be close to the creative level of at least Dahl and Johnny-B.

I just do see North taking any less money to stay at the score, because in his mind, he is the reason WSCR exist, problem is, he is a main reason they have struggled over the last 3 years.

I don't think he'll have any choice but to take a cut. If he wants to work in Chicago, he doesn't have a lot of options either - I think his political/non-sports topics were a failure so that limits him to the two stations, and the other one seems to have a pretty set lineup.

His show is definitely a painful listen. How can he defend himself since he gets beat soundly by Mike & Mike, a syndicated show?? Who are you crappin' Pappy!!

I don't really have a problem with his show if he's talking sports. He is a Monday Morning QB often, and it stinks that Fred is really nothing more than his gimp. Too often, he gets bored talking sports though, and goes off into other areas, and that's a turn to music signal for me. I want sports on a sports station (quite a concept I know), and his old man topics don't relate much to a 30 year old.
