I'd really love to see it, and it's more likely to happen than Yanks/Mets or Angels/Dodgers. Now I'm not up enough on the AL, but I know the NL Central pretty good. It's going to be 5 team clusterfuck! I predict that at some point each team will take a turn in first place with no team eliminated 'till late in September.

I don't have a bucket list, but if the Cubs DO win the Pennant I'll make the trip to Chi Town and hang out on Rush Street again for the first time in 20 years. BTW....is route 66 still open?

Right...because the last things you want your lead off guy doing are making the other pitcher throw a lot of pitches and getting on base consistently.

Come on, Man....one guy on the roster seeing 6 pitches per AB ain't gonna wear any pitcher out. How can you have a leadoff hitter that gets 56 doubles?!! That guy has to bat 3rd!

You want a guy with a .375 slugging percentage batting third?

That was one season.

But Matt Carpenter is good in the leadoff spot.

And a doubles hitter is fine in the 3 spot. I'd rather an all-around good hitter hit 3 and power come from 4.

I have no problem with the teams best hitter hitting 1st, or 3.

I also had no problem when the teams most consistent hitter (Beltran) hit 2nd the last 2 years.

The Cubs problem won't be lineup construction- unless you mean finding more guys that have OBP skills as the problem. Fowler and Rizzo go a long way toward addressing this problem. Cubs will be good, and soon. Winter is coming.
