Yes, he should remove his highest rated show, and one of the highest rated shows in the main dempgraphic. That decision is a no-brainer.

Linda already reported what he is doing with his time. Hopefully, he is not retiring from this activity.

Not a judgement or criticism but my experience notes that people with addiction issues or a mental health history do not "thrive" in extended periods of "down time". Again - not a judgement - I'm speaking from family experiences.

This just in!!!!!

Ben Finfer is pissed at Feder for reporting that Mac wouldn't be going back to the Score before Mac got a chance to tell him. Then Finfer's old partner sheepishly told Finfer that he knew Mac wouldn't be going back to the Score the night before Feder wrote the story.

That's exactly right. The worst thing an addict can have is idle time. They need to stay busy. I too speak from experience.

All the uproar over DMac needs to stop. The story was over long time ago. He gone. Mike North found this out quite some time ago. Time to move on.

And yet the Score, knowing what a piss-poor job they've done developing new talent, just tried to bring him back.

I'd really like to know why Mac hasn't put out a podcast. Is it some contractual thing? I'd think he'd like to stay relevant and offer some thoughts on the Chicago sports scene. What were his Bears coaching change thoughts, etc. Isn't he bursting at the seams with nuggets and tidbits and opinions? He's kind of fading away like the McFly kids in the picture.

In Sherman's article about the Cubs pre game host, he also wrote about Mac. Said Mac might not do sports if he came back. So that would mean afternoons at THE LOOP is, indeed, in play.

No Mac: Dan McNeil won't be coming back for a third spin at WSCR-AM 670. At least not now.

The station reached out to McNeil, a WSCR original, to return to his old job as co-host of the midday show after his replacement, Patrick Mannelly, decided he wants to concentrate only on being a football analyst. McNeil left the station after failing to come to terms on a new contract in August.

Reportedly, though, McNeil is set on exploring other opportunities beyond sports talk radio. In a Facebook post Thursday, he wrote: "To those of you who are disappointed, I assure you I'm not finished world shakin' yet. You will get ample notice where you can find me."
