I'm for Prewitt and Crowder for sure.

Who cares what he thinks. Plus, don't you think that Hog looks at a bunch of Mock drafts to make his Mock draft. There is actually no doubt that's what he does.

I am a Marcus M fan, but then you are committed to that guy and are changing the whole offense and Jay is a lock to be gone after 2015. Drastic ramifications, I am not sure Mr Pace read the fine print in his deal.

Crowder, does not last into the 4th??? The guy had a great senior year and great senior bowl. the only assumption here is that his combine work drags him down.

Crowder will have a good combine because he's an athletic, skilled football player.

But he is tiny. He's probably a 3rd rounder but he could last to the 4th...especially in the Annual Adam Hoge Nobody Else Is Drafting Players But The Bears Mock Draft.

No he doesn't look. That's the beauty.

He just picks players in the round he feels like irrespective of the other 31 teams.

I wonder if smaller slot guys are going to begin being drafted higher with success of Edelman, Brown, Cobb, Welker etc. Especially with rules about 5-yard contact and defenseless receiver being called more frequently by the year.

Ok. Whatever he does. I guess my main point is why look at Mock drafts of guys like Adam Hog when you have respectable people that actually do this. Guys that actually talk to NFL GMs and study college football.

It's pointless.

Adam Hoge 2013 Mock Draft

Round 1 - Alec Ogletree with the 20th pick. Ogletree goes 30th to the Rams, while the Bears pick Kyle Long. Hoge said alternates were Sylvester Williams (picked 28th by Denver) and D.J. Fluker (picked 11th by San Diego.)

Round 2 - Barrett Jones with the 18th pick of the round. Barrett ends up going in round 4 to the Rams. Alternates were Kevin Reddick (undrafted) and Jonathan Hankins (one spot before the Bears, who picked Bostic.)

Round 4 - Marquise Goodwin with the 20th pick. Goodwin went in the 3rd to Buffalo. Alternates were Nico Johnson (went to KC with the 2nd pick in that round) and Jordan Poyer (7th round Philly.) Bears take Khasseem Greene.

Adam Hoge 2014 -- he stopped providing alternates

Round 1 - Calvin Prior with the 14th pick. He went to the Jets with #18. Bears take Kyle Fuller.

Round 2 - Dominique Easley with the 19th pick. He went in the first round to the Patriots. Bears take Ego Ferguson.

Round 3 - Stanley Jean-Baptiste with the 18th pick. He went in the second round to New Orleans. Bears take Will Sutton.

Conclusion: All Mock Drafts Are Dumb. Hoge is no exception.

Also, some stuff is just wrong:

Undrafted, on GBs practice squad.
Quote:
[Colt Lyerla] Reuniting with Long — with Marc Trestman as his head coach — would be great for Lyerla, and the Bears happen to need another tight end. I originally had Lyerla targeted in the sixth round in my first Bears mock draft, but I have a feeling multiple teams are going to be willing to take a chance on him and the upside is too good to ignore in the fifth round.

I sense many posters are jealous Hoge has revolutionized the way the mock draft is done and they're mad they didn't think of it first.

I don't even know who Hoge is. On the other hand, I welcome any opportunity to take shots at Beardown.

BINGO! I need DB or someone to create Beardown Bingo.

BTW, I humbly request that the free space in the middle simply be " "

A mock draft that does round 1, maybe round 2 is kind of fun. Anything beyond that is beyond pointless.

Adam Hog really fucked up ditching the Score for "The Game". Durkin was waiting right there to swoop in and take that job. There are only so many "Bears Insider" jobs for skinny white kids from the suburbs.

Is this one of these mock drafts where he takes players regardless of what other teams may do? That seems odd.

Last week he had posted his Top 10 Edge Rushers:
1. Shane Ray, Missouri (6-3, 245)
2. Vic Beasley, Clemson (6-3, 246)
3. Owamagbe Odighizuwa, UCLA (6-3, 267)
4. Nate Orchard, Utah (6-3, 250)
5. Dante Fowler Jr., Florida (6-3, 261)
6. Alvin “Bud” Dupree, Kentucky (6-4, 269)
7. Randy Gregory, Nebraska (6-5, 235)
8. Hau’oli Kikaha, Washington (6-2, 253)
9. Eli Harold, Virginia (6-3, 247)
10. Lorenzo Mauldin, Louisville (6-4, 259)

He called Gregory a 2nd round pick.

Tartt won't last to the 3rd.

Orchard is unlikely to be there but he could be.

How so? None of the other teams are making picks.

what are your guys thoughts on Shelton with the 7?

I think I would rather have an edge rusher

If the 3-4 is where it is headed, I think it is the right move. You have to have that fat ass that takes up blockers.

Yeah, but the nose guy in the 3-4 doesn't make a lot of plays and nor is he expected to. Just take up a lot of space.

Casey Hampton for Steelers did just fine. If this guy can be him or in between him and Woolfork fine. I used to like Wanny's D with Ted Washington. If true 3-4 take him. If some hybrid shit let Ratliff and them just play tackle.

Shelton sure looks like he was born to play NT. He has a very bottom-heavy body, looks like he could squat a Yugo. He apparently ran a record-slow 40 but he looks pretty quick on youtube. On his film, Wash has a rush end that really pops out, #8. Might be worth a flyer in the 3rd or 4th round.
