Gleason wouldn't get into specifics, but it is believed the final candidates include Andy Masur, Wayne Randazzo, Conor McKnight and Jordan Bernfield.

Wayne Randazzo is probably the clubhouse leader because he has tenure over Masur, who should get it because he's worked on the Cubs broadcasts before and did a very good job. All those years in San Diego vs. the Randazzler's time in Kane County probably drives up his price, though. I have no opinion on Jordan Bernfield and neither does anybody else. I actively dislike Connor McDoink.

McDoink would suck.

Is Andy Masur still in San Diego.

The article says the pre and post guy would travel with the team as they've always done for WGN. But it doesn't say if the pre and post guy will continue doing one inning for Hughes. I assume they would. Or else why the hell would they need to travel?

I think Pat Hughes would have a say in this. He knows Masur, not the other guys, so maybe he goes to bat for him.

I say he will and Masur gets it.

Wow. Masur is the play by play guy for the Padres. He wants to take a step back to be pre and post? I know it's the Cubs. I know he's from here. But I would think you wouldn't give up an MLB play by play gig for this one. Especially since he left doing Cubs pre and post to get that job.

Then again, maybe he just wants to come home. I'll bet the Padres pay their radio guys nothing. Maybe he can make equal as the Cubs pre and post guy. Not to mention the Cubs are on the rise.

No, the Padres let Andy go this year or last year. You'll understand if people haven't been diligent in updating Andy Masur's wikipedia page.

Masur is doing low level college basketball for ESPN 3 now. But he moved back to Chicago.

I HAVE AN OPINION ON JORDAN BERNFIELD DAMNIT!!

I think.

If he's that guy that did the college football morning show on The Game, and I think he is, I enjoyed his work. I vote for Jordan to some degree.
