Hoppertunity, Shared Belief, California Chrome. This race looks like a Breeder's Cup Classic. Who do you like out there?

Hey, Joe, are any those horses Kentucky Derby eligible, or are they too old?

Ed, horses can only run in the Derby that are 3 years old....and all horses change their age on January 1 of each year, even if their real birthday isn't until months later. For example, Dortmund was born on February 7th, but as of 1/1/15 he's a 3YO in the horse racing world.

To answer your question, no horse in this race is eligible for the Derby, as they are all 4 YO or older. Clubhouse Ride is the old man in this race at 7YO.

Cool. 'preciate the info. I knew the Derby horses (and the rest of the Triple Crown for that matter) had to be 3 years old, but I didn't know how old those horses in San Antonio Invitational are. Too lazy to look it up, too.

I saw that initial odds were stacked for Chrome and Disbelief. See any value with other options?

Definitely interested in Hoppertunity. Very tough horse who doesn't quit.

If I can get 7/5 on Shared Belief, I'm firing.

Looks like you're right, Walt. It's a non-betting proposition.

Indeed. I think he would have won last year's derby had he not got injured.

I think so, but Chrome was pretty sharp last spring. Shared Belief is one of the better horses of the last ten years. He's strong from 6 to a buck and a quarter.
