Only 14 of 74 golfers were better than par today.

Nice. Cleveland has put out some nice gear recently that no one buys and can found really inexpensive.

Anyone see Glover's 2nd shot on 18 yesterday? He was few feet short of carrying the water and the ball skipped out and stayed up. Wild.

Yep, it looks like it almost hit one of those ducks.

I don't know how Day's chip or how Glover's shot ended up on grass.

glad Day won and Holmes lost. On 18 (before the playoff) Day went for it in 2 and Holmes laid up like a bitch. End result is Day got his birdie and Holmes had to settle for par and a playoff.

If you wanna win on the PGA tour you gotta make big shots. Laying up on a reachable par 5 when you have a shot to win the tournament with a birdie is pathetic and something someone not deserving of the win would do. Glad Day ended up getting rewarded for his aggressiveness.

Day did not make birdie on 18 in regulation, he blew his 2nd shot over the green, damn near hit his 3rd shot in the water and got it up and down for par.

Day got a par on the 72nd hole. He went it for it in two, and his third shot almost rolled into the water. He had to get up and down to save par.

I actually think the correct play was to lay up, much easier pitch shot.

It wasn't the second shot that hurt him. It was leaving an ~80 yard wedge over 20' away from the pin. That is not a real good shot for a professional. And as it was, he nearly holed the birdie putt. Put the wedge shot closer, and he likely birdies the 18th hole.

Its easy for us hackers to sit here and say he should have went for it. The vast majority of the scores in the golf threads here are probably 85-90, so most of us would have been hitting a 3rd shot to the green as well.

Played 36 holes of golf in Naples, Florida 4 days in a row. On the first day, we played Hammock Bay and I had my 2nd hole in one! I hit a 6 iron 168 yards into a 15 MPH wind, just onto the green, where it bounced and then rolled into the cup about 35 feet up. Didn't have an exceptional round (84 that day was the best) any day, but it was nice to be striking the ball in warm weather. Eagle Lakes was okay. Esplanade was by far the nicest course we played. It will be private in a few years, as is Hammock Bay already. Thanks to Southwest for not charging extra for our Golf bags, as American or United would. I am definitely planning on using Southwest from now on. The rates are MUCH better and not charging extra for the clubs is a nice plus. Going back to Florida the beginning of March again to South Beach and will get in one more round (maybe 2) of winter golf there, before getting the season going here.

Got the 2015 Golf Digest Equipment Issue earlier this week. I always have fun looking through that and
seeing all the new clubs I can't buy. I really would like a new driver this year but I can't justify $400
or more on one. I think I will either wait until the off season and get what is new now at a cheaper
price or possibly try to find an older model from last year now that is cheap. I'll likely wait it out though.
I've had mine for about 5 years and there technically isn't anything wrong with it, I just need to hit it
better.

My wife has been watching this weekend's tournament with me quite a bit. Not so much for the golf, but for the celebrities and the dogs running around on the beach.

Snedeker won today with a 4-5 year old driver.

Signed up over the weekend for the 2015 Wisconsin State Match Play and State Amateur qualifying tournaments. I've thrown the gauntlet down on myself
so time to really start getting to work in the gym and on my game once the snow starts to melt. Match Play is June 1 and if I make the cut the state tournament
is at Lawsonia. State Am qualifying is June 30th and if a miracle happens there the state tournament is at Erin Hills, site of the US Open 2017.

2016 Ryder Cup captains appear to be Darren Clarke and Davis Love III.

Interesting that they went back to Love III already. Does Couples not want the gig? What about some of these
other Senior Tour guys ( Pavin, Calcavecchia ). Ray Floyd still breathing? I even heard a good case for
making Phil a playing captain.

Sounds like it will be Couples in 2018, Stricker in 2020, not sure about 2022 and Mickelson in 2024.

OK. I didn't realize they had it set that far out. I guess I was thinking too old with the Senior Tour guys.
The guys I grew up with are in the right age bracket.

It is not set up, but they seemed to feel like this is where it is headed on the Golf Channel last night.

Oh ok, so this is just speculation. I think I'd be ok with those choices.
