I hope that their format is similar to Dahl and Meyer back in the day....some guy talk/sports talk and then a song or two...then back to callers and other topics. This could be really good.

AM drive time--most people only bother with the radio when in their cars nowadays. So only drive time hosts justify an sort of sizable salary.

WSCR could probably drop in a syndicated national show for mid-days and barely lose any ratings/revenue while reducing overhead.

Wonder if the M&M in the AM on FM show will be true drive time, 5-9, or if it's off-set to overlap into the mid-day time-slot at all.

Pete McMurray was on WCKG about 15 years ago when they had the Stern, Brandmeier, Buzz, Wendy, and Dahl. He's been here and there for years. He was at the Loop for a while, then i101, then WGN. He's just always somewhere.

Anyway, congrats to Mac! I think the Drive will be perfect for him. This will take them away from being a very music-first station, but that's okay. I'm sure Stroud and Skafish will still be as music-intensive as ever.

I remember McMurray as a WCKG guy. I dont think he has any sports background. Will he just let Mac go on some rant and have nothign to contribute if they are talking Bulls, Bears, hawks, or whatever?
