For about the last 5 years I have heard Peanuts resident dick sucker, Leary talk about what good friends he is with Peanut and how well he knows Peanut and how Peanut doesnt even really like football that much, he has many more interests....and Leary loves to get that point in at anytime ....

Peanut Tillman on NFL future: 'I'm not going to stop till I'm dead.'

Sounds like a guy that really has no interest.

I think Peanut is a great guy and I actually think the guy is going to end up coaching, even though he 'hates' football.

I understand he doesnt follow every bit of info the Bears front office is doing, which is fine, but the guy is a football lifer, dont need to be on his jock to see it.

Leary probably means only in the talking about it outside the field/locker room.

Yet, you can find peanut talking about football as much as anyone outside the terrible locker room. You can have interests and a family withut playing too cool for the room...

Surprise, surprise, Leery's just stealing one of Dan's bits about how fascinating it is that lots of STUDS who play football and basketball don't even care about the history of the game or approach the games as fans, they just suffer in quiet (or not-so-quiet) dignity to create GENERATIONAL WEALTH. Dan uses it to show how the silly peons care about the '85 Bears while the actual Bears don't. Leery uses it to say "Peanut Tillman is my friend."

Peanut having money troubles perhaps? Didn't think he'd be one to fall into that trap. He's pretty well-spoken.

"That's the business," Tillman said. "I'm trying to feed my kids. So, whatever team's going to help me pay my bills and help me feed my family – let's go."

I believe Tillman has a special needs child that requires a lot of care. A few more paychecks could make a huge difference.

Tillman is a great talker whose life after play could just as easily be in broadcasting as coaching. Too bad it's so hard to say this without the patented Douchebag Drive-By.

i think so too.. I know insurance has lifetime caps on some things as well as far as what they'll cover but he signed for 6 yrs 37 million in 2007 and made over 3 million last year. Those 2 contracts alone put him over 40 million career. Money should not be an issue.

Could be wrong, but I don't think he has a "special needs" child. I think his daughter needed a heart transplant. She got it. She's fine now.

Not really. There is no cure, only treatment

It may not be that at all but usually when athletes break out the feed my family line after having made tens of millions already and are at the end of their career it seems a little fishy.

I don't think he's made that much but you cut whatever he made in half because of taxes. Depending on the care she may need $10-20M net for a career may not be enough when you take into account other expenses.

I agree

I never miss a chance to use that lyric. It's one of my favorites and applies to many situations

Who knows with a child and a heart condition though. I mean what does a heart transplant cost? One night in the hospital with a broken leg can be thousands of dollars

Well Id like to think that even cutting that in half, he's made some income from investments. Again, Im just speculation'. Probably not that at all. Hell , I could have an afternoon drive radio show with these kind of leaps.

He has a net worth of a little less than $15M after making about $30M for his career. Doesn't sound like he's broke.

Me too. I want the Bears to keep him in the organization and let him do what he wants to do, player, coach, whatever.

Considering Lovie didn't offer him more than a 1 year contract last year I doubt he'll do something like that.

He talks about it cause he's being paid to. I've heard him on Laurence's show say he has no interest in watching football or talking about it outside of it being a paid profession.

I'm new here, but this thread seems like it's a desperate attempt to pick on Laurence. I hope I'm wrong.
