Once again, one year wasnt the bet.

the statement was putting money on the Sox for 3 years,

I actually like the Sox to have a better record than the Cubs this years, not by much, but still a better record.

However, over 3 years, I do expect the Sox to see some injuries and I think they lack overall depth and they are heavily relied upon 2 players who have already shown to be a but fragile.

Thus I especially liked a 3rd year of that wager.

Seacrest and Dr ken can adjust as they see fit.

But with Seacrests offer of 1 year, pretty much speaks volumes of the future of both clubs and further backs my wager.

You would have a point here if I agreed to collect the cash after year 1. But I already said that I would fore go collection.

You offered Dolphin a bet.

After you called out all Sox fans for something specifically offered to Dolphin, I proffered something different.

As Chus pointed out, your pissing match with Dolphin has nothing to do with any of us.

If you don't want to take my bet, just say so.

I think the Sox will have better records in each of the first two years. If everything works out according to The(o) Plan they Cubs should explode in year 3. So the Cubs could end up with more wins over three years while that number is not really representative of quality over the term

I'm not sure why anyone would take this bet with Biggie.

Called out exactly how?

You can make more money in better ways than this bet.

It would be like me calling out anyone who thinks the Bears will make the playoffs next year and offering them an even money bet. They would be better served finding a way to make more money if they truly believe that to be true.

it's not bigfan's bet. gd proposed the bet and then weaseled out when bigfan took his offer.

See, this is where us Sox fans start to form opinions.

Cubs fans seem to think it would be unthinkable that the Sox could win more games than the Cubs the next three years to the point where they don't even think good dolphin really means it.

gd said he would put his money on the Sox winning more games than the Cubs, and I'm sure he will, in a way that pays off better.

People usually bet to win.

Really nothing to see hear unless gd made a proposition for biggie's exact bet, and reneged.

The quality of the Cubs has nothing to do with it. Whether they're a 97 win team or a 97 loss team gd will be bullish in the Sox and bearish on the Cubs.

This thing where he said he'd put his money on them being better for three years then eventually said "well if the Cubs are really good in year 3 maybe not" is just an example

Exactly.

Bigfan understands the mechanics of offer, counteroffer and acceptance.

Kirkwood understands being a snake in the grass, Benedict Arnold, posting at MSFMB.

Those are not inconsistent statements.

I think the statements speak for themselves

And if a Cub fan made those two statements you would be killing them.

You play a dangerous game with making all these trolling statements about the Cubs and Sox that you dont believe. Eventually....THIS happens

They do speak for themselves. The Cubs COULD have more wins after three years. If they could not, I'd take bigfan's bet x1000

Which is one of many reasons why good dolphin would make a better bet than this one.

Offering a bad bet for about 16 hours and then claiming it as some sort of victory is just dumb. I could think the White Sox will win the next three World Series and I would not take this bet.

Its not a bad bet. It's a bet by two fans of rival teams on wins. Happens all the time.

There is a running one in my office. The Sox fans here dont cry about odds. They just bet because they believe the Sox will be better. Its that simple.

It is a bad bet because there are much better ones that Sox fans can make.

I doubt they are betting over three years.

Also, the fact that guys in your office bet stupidly doesn't mean that it is somehow the right thing to do. If I'm betting, I'm taking the best value I can get. This offer is far from that.

Yeah, its not about value and professional gambling.

Its two fans of rival teams betting. Many people do it.

Have you really never heard of this kind of thing? Its not stupid. People bet on their team and root for them and talk shit to each other the whole time and its a lot of fun.

I really dont care about the bet. whatever.

For $1000, it is about value and professional gambling.

I have done it with my friends. Not for $1000 though.

$1000 dollars over three years is not as much as it sounds like (and im a cheap non gambler)

If that is too much money to fuck around with for dolphin, that's fine. Seems like he bets a good amount anyway, but its not my money
