Oh ok, so this is just speculation. I think I'd be ok with those choices.

Yeah my fault, I didn't word that the best.

I wonder when/if Tiger will be a captain? Can't see him playing well enough to be on another Ryder Cup team.

I like the Love move. He had the USA up 10-4, and the guys that played in 2012 who also play in 2016 will likely want to do everything they possibly can to get him a W.

Would love to see Freddy Boom Boom Couples as captain soon....hopefully he is a Vice Captain in 2016.

I would think both Couples and Stricker will be Vice Captains in 2016.

Got in touch with the head pro and my golf course opens March 21st, exactly 30 days away. I only hope the
snow is gone by then.

Was gifted a Yes putter last night for my birthday. Seems to have good balance and I am done with Odyssey types. Back to a blade for me. Opinions?

C-Groove Callie something? Reg price for last year's model was 279.

Honestly don't know that much about them but appears to be a nice putter. Good luck with it.

I prefer a heel shafted mallet. This is what I am rocking:

I tried the Odyssey and owned the Ping similar type. I just can't get them to work reliably. Does something with my eyes and I push and so forth. Honestly, last year I could have played better with a mini golf stick.

I've been using the blade style my entire life. I can't use a putter with an offset as it messes up my sightline. I putted with Titleist Bullseye putters in
high school and had a lot of luck with them but eventually started using Pings and for the past 8 years or so I have been using Scotty Camerons. I have
hit some putts with the mallets but I just don't think I could get used to the big head on them.

I'm a fan of Yes! putters. I've used the Callie and Tracy II before. The older models, before they were purchased by Adams Golf, are of a better build quality. The Callie is an Anser-style, full-offset, plumber's neck. To me, the C-grooves put a nice roll on the ball (some people say it's a gimmick that the grooves get the ball rolling sooner, as Yes putters have a lower loft than others). Use caution when putting from the rough (hey hey!) due to the lower loft. Post a picture when you get a chance.

If you ever get serious about the game, it's a good idea to to go through a SAM lab putter fitting. Lot's of scientific feedback and measurables. There are no hard-and-fast rules when it comes to putter style, but understanding your stroke and and putter types/styles (blade vs. mallet, offset - full-shaft offset, 1/2 shaft offset, no offset and face-balanced vs. toe-hang). Even eye-dominance plays a part - I'm a right-handed golfer and extremely left-eye dominant (i essentially see only out of my left eye). Putters with no or minimal offset suit my eye best.

Yeah Furious I stand over the putt and stand behind the putt. All sorts of ways to line it up. I putt and it is off. Whatever this is the one for this year. I will take a pic at home. Sure wish we could just upload cell phone pics rather than the hosting thing.

Find out your eye dominance. Pretty easy to test on your own. The Callie has a full shaft of offset and might not be best for you if you are left-eye dominant.

Also, an easy way to get you set up to the ball properly is to place a CD/DVD on the floor with the ball in the center and make sure your eyes can be seen/reflected. I did this years ago and realized I was standing much too far away from the ball because my putter was too long.

Edit: You have one of the recent Yes/Adams versions.

Still haven't touched a club since last September. My wife even went to the golf dome this weekend which shows you how far behind I am this offseason.

I'm hoping to be able to afford new irons and a new driver before the season starts.

Gonna go with the new Mizuno JPX 850 forged irons and upgrading my Titlist to the new 915.

Have big plans this season. Those big plans basically involve me not taking the game as seriously as I do. I have to accept that with my swing limitations I will never be as good as I think I should be and just go out there and try and have fun. Gonna be hard as competitive as I am, but not practicing this winter is a good start.

Nice choices. If I were to buy new irons this season the Mizuno MP irons would be in the final cut. I loved my MP33's and still have them in my basement.

I don't think I've ever met anyone who didn't love their Mizuno irons, whether they are irons they are currently playing or some set from 10-15 years ago that they still have and reminisce about.

Not that it matters but do a lot of pros use Mizuno? Or do regular guys love them because they are great for a regular price?

Both. But, one thing I've noticed is that of all the different brands, Mizuno irons are the most popular amongst really good amateur players. On Golfwrx forum, lots of the low index guys use Mizuno blades.

There are a handful of guys that play them on tour. They don't have the kind of budget to play with like Titleist and Taylor Made and Callaway do but
they certainly have their guys that swear by them. Until maybe 5 years ago or maybe a bit longer Mizuno was considered a better players club
because they are a forged iron, generally meaning less forgiveness and distance but giving the player better feel and feedback from their shots. Due to increased
technology and design they have been able to design player improvement irons, some with forged iron, giving your average player the opportunity to
choose from a variety of clubs based on your handicap and what kind of look you are going for. I am almost positive Tiger Woods was playing Mizuno
blades as an amateur.

I stopped into Goodwill this morning to see if they by chance had a tea kettle. My wife has been having some tummy issues, and tea really seems to help calm things down. Plus I like to drink it in the winter and/or when I'm singing a lot. Anyway long story short, they did not have a tea kettle, but I did find a brand spankin new Adams golf bag for $19.99! Its veery similar to this just a lighter blue and has the straps to carry it on my back;

I usually like starting each season the last few years with a new club or clubs to work with. I couldn't justify the cost of new irons or a new driver
this time so I ended up buying a "new" driver from a site that resells used TaylorMade clubs. Ended up going with the TaylorMade SLDR which was
one of the hottest drivers last year. Was looking for an 8 Degree loft but settled on a 9 degree since I could find the shaft I was looking for on
that model and with the ability to add or subtract 1.5 degrees loft in either direction, I can still turn it down to 7.5 degrees if I want and really
no need to go any lower than that. I may start buying clubs this way going forward as it was a fraction of the original retail price. I just need to
see how it will actually look in person. I'll slap a new grip on it and can't wait to hit some balls with it. Never had a club with a moveable weight
so very interested to see how that works and changes the club dynamics.

edit -- I got the TaylorMade SLDR TP 430 with the smaller head on it. A little tougher to find in the specs I wanted as well.

I may have gotten it cheaper via eBay or other means but to get the loft and X-stiff shaft I wanted it was $190 delivered to my door. I trust buying it from
TaylorMade that it is what they say it is. Also comes with the tool and headcover which a lot of the others on line were not. Cheaper than the $499 version
they are selling new right now.

As long as I get what I ordered I would say so. They had all the TaylorMade stuff on there including utilities and iron sets as well.

T-Bone: Most folks seem to be going w/more loft when in comes to the SLDR, so getting the 9 degree might work out best.

I'm not in the market for any new gear, but the way TM and Callaway gear drops in price is insane. Really no reason to buy upon release.
