This would be my pick if I ruled the world. The fatal flaw is of course Spiegel.

Question for the more learned NBA peeps here. Jason talks like he is an NBA expert. Is is my naivety, or does he not know all that much?

Goff's an NBA lightweight. Reads blogs and engages in a lot of gossip. There is not a lot of substance to what he does NBA wise.

Without a doubt. I heard a Hubie Brown segment on M&M this morning and it made me long for the days...

It makes sense, though. The Score's daytime lineup is -- was -- very white for a Chicago sports station.

Probably the best choice, but I might wind up taking that back once I realize the Team Bernstein ramifications of this.

Mac turned them down, but don't let that get your lips off management cock Danny.

No, I'm not thinking that far ahead. I just mean having a Bernstein clone in middays to echo Dan's p.r. for Reinsdorf.

Is the consensus that Goff was intended to be the hire (Mac replacement) all along, but due to corporate red tape they brought in Mannelly as a temp?

I don't doubt that they wanted a black guy in the daytime lineup, but I find it difficult to believe that they made an offer to Laurence and his entire A-Team to move to the 9-1 slot.

I don't know, does waiting for your New York overlords to clear a Jason Goff contract justify signing a new guy and then tanking in the ratings in the meantime?

I liked when Hubie stated (when talking about the Cavs chances) that a bench doesn't matter in the playoffs. 20 minutes later when he finally completed his Cavs thought he sang the praises of last seasons Spurs. He then concluded with the fact that 1 of the 3 requirements to win a championship was a good bench.

I don't mind Goff. I did unfollow him on Twitter. Can't remember why. Either he was posting about Atlanta shit which I didn't care about or he annoyed me.

That is the one thing that ESPN does that I wish the score would do more of. They have actual NBA and NFL people talking about the NBA and the NFL. I don't want to hear a bunch of no name guys who are promoting some obscure blog professing to be aficionados. I don't mind guys getting technical about sports. Its cool to do that. The score stuff too often comes across as mindless banter. Mully and Hanley are not chronic offenders of this but the "Mac" show and "B & B" show are far too concerned with being entertainers. At least Mac had the good sense to identify his calling before he became too stale.

What you talkin' about? GOFF was the Score NBA Expert for a while back before Mac had him fired. He was an EXPERT, he had the badge, the chops and all that.

You best believe.

Jason Goff's tweet from 1:30 this afternoon:

"You 7k son's of b*&#es that stopped following me when I went to Atlanta are flooding back now, huh? Nothing to see here!"

Way to start a new era.

Not bad, I don't mind Goff.
I do hate when he gets NBA obsessed...listen to Silvy if you like that crap.

I was rooting for Larry only because once he failed it would have been the end of him.

There couldn't be a bigger slap in the face than the one Mattabattacola just got.
He's like the guy at your work that's been in the same entry level job for 20 years.
That's ok if you're happy to settle and have no ambition to move up but when you're like Mattabattacola and have been trying for years but still stay in the entry level job....you have no confidence and / or know you have no marketable skills.

The prevailing theory is that this was not possible at that time.

Great, another Bernstien clone who failed in a smaller market - so he comes back to a bigger market - a promotion! Goff has an undeserved attitude, little or no creativity, and a really hard time with the english language. Similar to North, except North didn't think he was smart - and when he did, he as an awful listen.

Goff will start off bad like the retuning hero and will go downhill from there. For me, PTFB.

Goff is a good dude. I'm happy. Now they just need to lose Speegs and make this station listenable-er.

Yawn. Fucking yawn. Another reason not to listen to the Score. Its been since Tebow/Paterno. It will continue. (Except during Sox games)

Goff Sucked then. He sucks now.
