I figured I was probably the last Basketball fan to hear about this kid.

He kind reminds you of Garnett when you watch him. He is a seven foot small forward.

Agree, need some coaching to take it to the next level, playing against the 6'4" guys does nothing for him and creates bad habits.

He should be going to Bishop Gorman or Finley prep.

I guess they are going to make him eligible to graduate from high school this yr. He originally was scheduled to graduate next yr. There is a kid from St. Louis Jayson Tatum who is the best player in the class of 2016. He is the truth.

'BEST OF A CLASS" is very undefined at this point. You are talking about kids whose bodies aren't filled out, you dont know how they will play against others like them, how they will deal with college.

Guards, I want to see the talent NOW! No need to show me how they will develop, not taking time I want talent NOW.

Forwards, Gonna need a year. time to get used to playing against bigger guys, but they are usually athletic and improve quicker.

Centers, They need time. Better coaching, better nutrition, weight training, etc. HAAS down at Purdue as an example.

I am all for kids going to Basketball prep school (Call it regular prep school) but its a great things for many kinds. Would even say MOST kids.

They have him rated as the number 1 guy in the class. He is highly skilled and a legit 6'9. You can kind of tell with some kids early. The really good ones leave little doubt. He has to fill out physically as most high schoolers do but he has a big time game.

Rivals have him rated #3, so there is some doubt somewhere. Plus they have him at 6'8".

Stanley Johnson, California Player of the Year, #3 overall, 6'8" forward, Arizona freshman, very filled out at 245, outside shot, man among boys.

Probably a one and done with a top 5 Draft pick (If told so)

He is an example of one of thefew that goes from that 6'8" F projection and lives up to the billing.

#4 Cliff Alexander, getting some bench time at Kansas.

I was not impressed with Stanley Johnson when I watched him. Cliff Alexander's is not particularly skilled. He was a, high motor guy that tries to dunk everything. He never had much of a post game. Tatum handles like a guard. His handle is very fluid. He has the mid range game to match The stuff I've seen has him #1

Like the kid from Sudan, I'd never heard of Jayson Tatum either. I just can't get into College ball 'till the sweet 16. Watched a compilation video and I must say he looks quite poised. I'm sure he will like it in LA in a couple of years....or NY.

Stanley johnson looked better in HS than the highlights I have seen on Tatum.

Either way, I would take my chances with THON over either.

6'8" guys are AWESOME when 95% of who they play against is me! Then they are just another guy...not all of them, but many.

Highlights don't tell very little of the story. I have seen the guy play an entire game. The interesting thing about him was that he didn't have an off the charts type of game in terms of production. But you could see his skill set. The guy could handle and he had a pull up game. he shot the three and he went to the glass. It was one of those ESPN games thus he was playing against other high major Div. I kids. I think they played a prep school. Thus they were not playing against guys with your ability. Thon Maker is good but he is going to have to beef up. He is rail thin. I liked Tatum better. Tatum was also rated higher than him on most boards before Maker was reclassified.

Highlights from camps is what recruiters look at. They want the few times these kids get to play against similar talent.

The games you watch when they play against below college level talent is what gets them on the radar, how they do in a camp is what gets them recruited.

The game I watched had him matched up against two- three guys that were high major kids. The kid he was guarding was a top 20 prospect. ESPN wouldn't show a game featuring Senn high schools. Their games features schools with top talent. He scored 39 against Stevenson in another game and his team won. Jalen Brunson had 48 in that same game. We'll give it a couple of yrs and see how hit pans out but he looks like he is for real. College Recruiters watch the kids in person at their high school or during AAU camps. Highlights may put the kid on the radar but colleges rarely if ever offer kids based on highlight tapes. Every kid looks good on a highlight that is why it is a highlight.
