You guys are crazy. Salt, pepper, and dill are the only seasonings needed. Put a pad of dill butter on the salmon as it rests. Perfection.

For sure. Good salmon has so much flavor on its own that you can't dress it up.

Correct. But it doesn't matter which type of liquor you quaff down it's totally sugar free after it changes to alcohol. Alcohol gets a bad rap. It's only unhealthy when abused by those with less than good working livers. That's why some people can be drunkards for 40 or more years before they develop fatty liver syndrome, leading to scarring and ultimately the dreaded cirrhosis....and then it's their ass.

For those who are going to be heavy drinkers there are a few things you can do to lighten the load: drink cocktails with a safe mixer, not shots. The worst possible mixer is any soda or juice made with high fructose corn syrup. That shit is actually worse for the immune system than the booze. Drink light beer, not for less calories, but for less carbs that your liver must convert along with the alcohol load.

When you get the buzz on your second or third drink, make your next drink water or anything nearly clear and unsweetened. I can't stand cranberry juice, which is the best possible option, but green tea may be as good. Drink at the same rate as the booze, don't guzzle it down. One casual glass of water will give your liver a respite and you will maintain your buzz and also prevent dehydration the next morning. (a serious body blow to the system) Do this and you can drink much longer without getting shitfaced, while staying high.

The safest liquors are white rum and vodka. The worst are the ones with the most flavor like whiskies and gin, and of course liqueurs. It's the congeners, or impurities you want less of. You already know that red wine has benefits, but dry white's are pretty good too. Packed with antioxidants to boost the immune system. (like the cranberry, or ANY small berry)

Most men know more about cars than they do their own body. I thought I knew a lot before I got sick. All I really knew were the basics. I'll tell you the ultimate trick to be a heavy drinker for life with no ill effects: every 2 or 3 years stop drinking for 2 months. That's how long it takes your liver to replace every old cell. A new, high functioning gizzard every 2 months!

The secret to being healthy seems to be avoiding gluten, restaurants, and drinking a ton of alcohol but then stopping for a few months. Do I have this right?

You do not. You forgot exercise. It's like an infusion of air to your carburetor and powers up your system to better utilize the fuel you're using, foods. Bottom line: a high functioning immune system can fight off damn near anything, including cancer. Especially cancer!

I don't know if this is sarcasm or not, but in case it's not: all exercise is not equal. Jogging, long distance biking, running or swimming only tones the muscles while taxing the body. It's BURSTS of maximum effort for only about 30 seconds (followed by a complete cool down of at least 15 minutes) that triggers the immune system into overdrive.

Bad food is bad. I think we all know that.

The problem is that you are going way overboard.

You don't have to give up gluten and eating at any restaurant to be healthy.

THere has to be a balance too. It would suck to eat healthy like this for years and then die in a car accident at age 50. You gotta enjoy life a little...

"Health Tips From A Guy Who Poops In A Bag" sounds like the premise for a Saturday Night Live sketch, but not a particularly good one.

Keep on doing it. Just don't enter any marathons or make your players do hard 2 hour practices between games in mid to late season!

None. That stuff is extremely dangerous. You shouldn't be in a haze, and besides, it's a gateway drug.

One or two joints/bowls at the same time of day, once a day is optimal. Your immune system is totally unaffected by the stuff. Our bodies love regularity and adjust to whatever your routine is. There's a lot of information out there on the benefits of weed. It's truly a super herb.

Bull Man,
Are you under the care of a chiropractor? Does your chiropractor think that deep breathing can cure cancer too?

LOL....so true. As to the previous comment that I'm going "way overboard", let me make myself clear: I go overboard because I have to. It took a total commitment by me due to my medical circumstances. In the space of a year I was diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure, celiac (gluten) disease, hiatal hernia (stomach pushing up through the esophagus) reddened throat (precursor to esophageal cancer) hepatitis C (that's the fatal one) and then the operation to separate my small intestine from the large (colostomy)

Brother, that's a shitload of dietary challenges.
