Good. He may have done it while he was on vacation and tried to play through it. That would explain his play after the all star game.

What explains his play before the ASG?

He was starting to get better but I would say fear and dedication.

If Hinrich was the player he was the past couple of years I would say him and Brooks were better than this Derrick Rose.

go figure that they discover this a day after derrick goes 1-13 from the field, eh?

hey at least there's 15-20 more shots per game for jimmy butler and pals. if there was ever time for a jimmy butler era to start well here you go. carpe diem.

Josh Smith is actually playing much better than Lance, not that I've been paying attention .

He played what probably was his best game of the season in the last game before the break.

Great. Once every 10 games or so he plays well. Cool.

For talk about Marshmelo? He's old and done. Stephenson will be traded in the offseason and be more productive than Marshmelo over the next few years.

Stephenson has the look of a guy that will be out the league in a few yrs. He is now playing behind the immortal Gerald Henderson.

The coach hates him and he's a terrible fit for that team. His immaturity doesn't help either.

"Sun-Times Basketball" is Cowley, right?

I think he still has the @cst_Cowley account, though. He hadn't tweeted from it in almost 3 years, but he RT'ed something from Frank Isola a month ago. He probably didn't mean to.

I agree, he was looking mvp right before the break, and came back looking like he binge drank for a week. I couldn't understand why he looked so bad, but it's obvious now. He probably did something stupid and we won't hear about it until he's retired.

Bullshit ...the last time he looked like a MVP was 2011

The Bulls aren't going the Gilbert Arenas route. Rose and the Bulls are married until 2017.
They need him to retire.

"An NBA team may apply for salary cap relief after a league-approved physician confirms the player is no longer medically fit to continue playing. The player continues receiving his salary, and the team may remove his salary from cap consideration the following season. This allows the team to sign a player to fill the retired player's roster spot without hindrance from the retired player's contract."

That's not that far-fetched. Remember Noah's plantar fasciitis issues when he was wearing those French shoes? They went away when he switched to Adidas.

I will agree on the coach not liking him. He was vastly overrated too and he is one of the top five cancers in the NBA for people that are big on that sort of thing. If you look at his career he has only been good for a half a season. He believes that he is better than what he actually is . For 7 million a yr I would not take a flyer on him. He is a shooting guard that is shooting 15% from 3 point range. Rondo may shoot better from three. If he is with the Hornets next yr they won't pick up his option for that third yr. He will eventually bounce around on a few teams after that and he will be out the league. If his talent matched his ego you may have something but when it really comes down to it the guy was never really good in the first place. He only started because Granger was injured. There was never any talk of him being a guy for the future. He played better than expected so he went from not rated to vastly overrated overnight.

NBA needs to reduce the season from 82 games to 62 games and no longer have back-to-backs.

Sounds good, but I don't think the players or the owners will take the pay cut.

Ray Allen? just to have on the court at the end of a game to open up things for Jimmy and Pau. I know he probably wouldnt come here though.

Rose has to sit. No one can possibly think he could comeback and actually make a contribution. He would get very limited minutes and play at less than full speed. Or he would get hurt again anyway.

Go with Brooks and have Hinrich and Nate back him up. Rose's contribution wasnt enough to make a difference even before he got hurt, Brooks is a way better shooter and he turns the ball over less.
