I think you trade him last off season. Pulling his A when you don't trade him means the Blackhawks were admitting the rumors were true. So you don't do it. You're in bed with him, at that point, so to speak. So you gotta keep the "nothing to see here" thing going.

I flip during commercials. I probably hear about 10 minutes a day. I used to listen when ESPN had other programming on, like baseball. He's always been like this. I've never liked the show or him and have never been a regular listener.

Bernstein has crossed into scumbage territory by perpetuating this story. This/his story goes beyond Sharp and towards the whole team. What, in an alpha sport Sharp gets to nail anything that moves and everybody is hunkydory with the situation? This isn't a loose collection of local poon but other player's wives. Where has such a situation ever existed before? Not that there haven't been such transgressions before but management will do what it has to do to keep a peaceful locker room. If half of the allegations are true the Blackhawks would have taken the "A" first, and then moved him.

Bernstein isn't a journalist, he's playing the shock-jock role and he is ignorant of both the short and long term ramifications. Short term, he's putting himself out there to be taken down. That's the way the world works. Unlike others who purvey gossip they at least have some boundaries. They at least see more than just one side of the story. Sharp, Keith, and others in that locker room have not just wives but children who while very young, will grow up to know who this asshole really is.

But its not just the players children but his own children. His son is going to have to get used to having his father referred to as a scumbag. He can be the world's greatest dad at home, but in the hallways of high school he'll be a scumbag. And as the fallout from this comes about there'll be more invective he'll have to hear.

Long term Bernstein's name is going to be synonymous with clubhouse/organization cancer. His "sources" aren't operations but organizational, they are replaceable. Don't think these teams, the least of which is worth several hundred million dollars, are going to sit around and pretend there is nothing they can do. They'll endeavor to find the sources and terminate them. All it will is take one person to get fired and the rest will treat him like he's got full blown ebola.
