He did the sports this morning on WGN Morning News. That might have been the roughest 4 minutes I have ever seen anyone do on a news broadcast. He mumbled and stumbled through the whole thing. I couldn't believe how bad he was. He's been a part of Bears postgame stuff on CSN for many years, and I thought he was pretty good at that. I guess reading a script is harder than just breaking down the game in an ad-libbed style.

How bad compared to, say, your average Mike Adamle sportscast?

Very bad. Like, did they even show the script to this guy before he went on the air, bad.

I don't remember that, but I was always a fan of this, and I felt terrible for him when he had to retire.

On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being not very crappy and 10 being Adamle-rific, sounds like he was close to a 10 on the Adamle scale.

WGN always has those kids help with weather on the morning broadcast. I find those uncomfortable. 'GN must be going after a market niche I never knew existed.

Yeah, those are also terrible. But just like B&B, WGN Morning News dominates the ratings. The other networks should just give up and show reruns of Gilligan's Island.

Virality, which is a concept WGN understood long before anyone else who does broadcast local news.

Rashied Davis did the sports this morning on WGN. He was better than Azumah, but I think he was high.
