For a late round pick.

I'm okay. Tons of WR depth in FA and Draft. Team needs as many young players as it can get.

Let's hope they get a good replacement but yea, given the team is not a Super Bowl contender, makes sense to unload him.

The man was however arguably the best receiver in team history in terms of production.

Yup. Now, everyone will say it was obvious that Marshall was going to be gone when he said it.

I read a blog from him this morning and the title still contained a word like "probably." He still wouldn't even go out on a limb enough to say he was definitely getting traded.

Are you saying he can't see the future?

The early word is the #Jets traded a 5th round pick for veteran WR Brandon Marshall, per source. Not official until a physical though

If he had a real source this morning, it would have been a source saying Marshall is going to be traded or cut. Not that he "probably" can't continue to exist in the Bears locker room.

So how long before people are being critical of Pace for this move?

Come on.

Dan said months ago that Marshall was gone because management wanted him gone. It was pretty surprising at the time. Marshall is gone. The Bears pretended Marshall may be back to keep more trade value.

He literally wasn't committing to it as of this morning. And now they changed the damn article. Check out the URL... "LIKELY." If he had a real source, it would have been titled as such. But instead he chose the word "Likely" because he can't be proven wrong.

Editor’s note: Less than an hour after this was posted, news broke that Brandon Marshall will be traded to the Jets. The column has since been updated to reflect that. Consider it an explanation of how everything developed leading up to today.

He still called this months ago.

Just because he used the word likely rather than definitely doesn't change that.

perhaps bernstein can move off of his "conditional" trust in Ryan Pace that he stated yesterday during tranny. Goff basically called him out for being a mangement stooge and Dan corrected Jason by telling him he only "conditionally" trusts Ryan Pace

anyways get ready for 5 hours of I told you so... followed with a small helping of cock slurping that Pace could get a 5th for a guy that everyone knew would be cut

He couldn't have had it months ago, if he wasn't even sure about it today.

The larger point is that it's just proof to me that he doesn't have real sources. He speculates. And often times that makes him right. To suggest the Bears could trade Marshall after how big of a clown he was this year, isn't an earth shattering idea.

And by continuing to use the word "likely" as late as the morning he is actually traded, it's just further proof he doesn't have a concrete source. I don't see how anyone could see it any other way. If he had a real source, it would have been "Marshall can't come back." Meaning he'd know he's being traded or cut. Instead, it's "likely" can't come back.

He said that management wanted him gone but wasn't going to force Pace's hand any further than making it known that they wanted him gone. Bernstein wins again, and you've got no right to take your place with the human race.

meddle - "interfere in or busy oneself unduly with something that is not one's concern." you just proved the meddling point

Bears management gave Pace the right to make the only choice he could make.
