Of all the people who crapped their pants on Friday night, Bryan Bickell is Quenneville's ritual sacrifice to the hockey gods. He had to wear an Antti Raanta warmup jersey in shame at practice yesterday, I guess the idea being that he would...get optioned down to Rockford despite not having options? I dunno. I'm guessing this bumps Desjardins up (so much for meritocracy, he may have been worse than Bicks was) and brings Teravainen back into the lineup, which is good because we'll need all the firepower we can get against a decidedly superior Rangers team. The Hawks are 15th in scoring, having never finished below 5th under Quenneville, which does not augur well.

IS NOT CHICAGO:
The Rangers have been great this year and got better with the addition of Keith Yandle. Cam Talbot has performed admirably in Henrik Lundqvist's absence, and a full season of St. Louis with Nash and Stepan has made them one of the league's best offenses. They're just behind the Hawks in goals against. They could easily go back to the SCF this year as a serious contender, not just the last man standing while the rest of the conference imploded (as both Eastern teams were for the Kings).

The game is on NBCSN at 6:30 because it's Chicago and New York. NBC would show the Rangers playing with their dicks if they thought they could guarantee the New York television market.
