Was doing an impromptu tasting at my go-to store, and another customer mentioned he was on his way to Three Floyd's. He agreed to bring me back a case. Got a cool 24 Zombie Dusts bottled that day (2/26). Stuff is so good.

If I wanted to sell these bottles, I could probably get $500 for all of them.

The 3 blue labels are BCBS Propietor's (2013, 2013, 2014).
The 3 magenta labels are BCBS Backyard Rye, all from 2013.
The 3 red labels are BCBS Coffee, all from 2012.
The tan label is BCBS Vanilla Rye from 2014
The bottle in front of that is Night Stalker from 2012.
The balck label is BCBS from 2009.

At mybeercellar.com, the Backyard Rye and the 2009 BCBS are for sale for $75 each. What you ask for it, and what you get for it are two different things, however.

Random guy picked up a case for you?

it's really annoying that it's so hard to find. it's easily one of the best beers ever. my usual now is founder's centennial ipa. good stuff. and when i want the serious hops, hop stoopid from lagunitas or lagunitas maximus.

Yes. The liquor store fronted the $40 for the case (since I was cashless), and I came back the next day with the $40, and the case was sitting there at the store.

It's a lot easier to find ZD on draft. And, yeah, there's no better deal (bomber wise) out there than Hop Stoopid. Actually you could say that about most of their products. Great beers and a good price point.

So, let me get this one straight.

You want a case of 3F. You have no cash, Some guy says he is going to get some. The Liquor store gives you or the guy some cash to pick up a case for you?

1. Thats illegal on behalf of the liquor store. Cant buy retail and resell.
2. Are you that much of a regular that they fronted the $40 for you?
3. Is the other guy that much a regular that they gave the guy $40 cash?

Just asking

I could see someone doing that for a regular customer. And it wouldn't have to be "the store" buying the case. Just an employee essentially loaning cash to Greg.

Yeah, I'm a regular there. I brought a couple beers there that day for a tasting with one of the owners. He fronted the $40 for the case, that another guy muled back from Three Floyd's. I then reimbursed the $40 the next day and went home with the case. Not seeing what's wrong with that, BF.

And the store doesn't buy directly from the brewery then flip it. They buy from distributors like every other legally run store. Stop trying to find dirt where there isn't any, BF. Leave that crap to Beardown.

How many places could you go to for anything and have an employee drop $40 cash for you for anything?

I would NEVER give someone $40 in that situation. Go to one of the 18 ATM's within 200 feet of us! And if you dont have an ATM card...then for sure I am not lending you the $40.

Not trying to Beardown this one or find the flaw, just sounds like something that might happen in a very small town general store scenario bak in 1950. I think the manager at my plumbing supply store would loan me $40....and thats about it, but he knows I have to come back in and I see him all over the place, but I just could never see that scenario happening to me ...or me ever lending someone $40 I just dont know.

More power to you if you have that environment.

So you could see the supply guy lending you the cash, but could never see that scenario happening to you.

Makes perfect sense.

We used to do weekly tastings at this store. They know I've spent and continue to spend my fair share of money there. Hell, they sponsored our softball team. I don't know why you're having such a hard time grasping this.

Those are better reasons then.

Tastings, regular customer, sponsoring your softball team...so you know them fairly well

Yeah, maybe I didn't make that point earlier. They hold stuff in back for me and other regulars. Meaning if they only get a case of something, I'll get six or whatever. They take care of us, and they continue to get our business.
