I think this is his 4th chance in the bigs?

Blew 2 chances in Texas, then another last year after he claims he got his eyes fixed and now here he is again.

Getting it done in spring ball, showing veteran presence and patience.

if he earns the start at 3B from his spring play, great, let him start, but 3 failures before that better mean you have a short leash and have a plan B....

Watching the guy in person, he is a really good and solid glove guy, he seems to get it, as nice of a guy as you could want, Yeah, I am rooting for the good guy to keep the job, but sure as hell not counting on it.

He'd fit with the Bears.

He can't hit anybody.

Good problem to have if he doesn't suck. Though if he bombs I heard we have this cat Bryant waiting around for a chance.

He played 16 games in the bigs for Texas.

But regardless, this is his last shot with the Cubs

His BA was so low for a while there (think he rebounded a little on 2nd callup),I can't believe the Cubs invited him back.

MLB on the whole looks like 1968 all over again. Maybe time to lower the pitching mound some more.
Have them pitch from a trench and change the color of the balls to neon orange. (Charlie Finley was right!!)

He is under control for cheap money. Why wouldn't they have? Even if he isn't in the long term plans, you have the perfect opportunity to increase his value right now.

Not to mention that power like that is hard to find. Obviously he has to raise the average to make it work, but the power is a good thing.
