B&B's logic on mccown being ok to start next year because next year doesn't matter is really weak. In what world is a 36 y/o has been QB the guy you want QB'ing a rebuilding project? IF you are willing to write off next year, i'd rather a younger guy get the opportunity to start than a has been QB - i.e. Fales or a new rookie, or anyone under the age of 25

Wait...so now B&B want McCown to be the Bears starting QB??? Oh my...

That's the way I see it as well. If you are committed to throwing away the season then use it to evaluate young players.

I am not on board with tanking.

Just yesterday b&b practically guaranteed Cutler would be gone because management wasn't "talking him up" by saying he's our guy etc. Has either one of them mentioned this fact?

I wrote it in the B and B section but it bears repeating: Moon Mullen on Hood's show last night stated he was very close to the situation and that the Bears did very little in the way of shopping Cutler. He termed reports to the contrary "as misinformation based on disinformation".

I wish Hood had asked him about the disinformation. Were the Bears attempting to leak disinformation through a person they knew would repeat it without questioning? Why would they look to leak such information?

Ian Rappaport says he spoke with as many Quarterback needy teams he could to see if the Bears approached them about Cutler, none said they did.

This is from a celebrity gossip site. Could explain everything.

157. ENTERTAINMENT LAWYER 02/14 **#5**
This NFL athlete is blaming his poor performance last season on his B list celebrity wife who had people watching him to make sure he didn’t cheat on her. In their prenup she only gets really paid if he cheats. He always has, so she had people following him this season and he didn’t cheat and had a terrible year. He thinks a divorce might be worth it at this point because he doesn’t want to lose the salary owed to him. Jay Cutler ("Chicago Bears")/Kristin Cavallari
