Sounded like something that would happen here...

Jurko makes the crack about Jay and his bitchy disposition saying 'maybe he needs more insulin'

Now, personally I dont think it is a shot at diabetics, it is a shot at Jay personally for people making excuses for him....such as Jay being a diabetic.

Jurko, gets a call and its the guy with the kid (shes 27 now) and has had diabetes for 25 years...and called Jurko out for the CRAP!

Others called in as well...and here comes your herd mentallity.

Jurko I think handled it pretty well and I kind of thought he would....he asked if he could take this as a learning oppurtunity...didnt apologize, which is fine, but said he will be more sensitive in the future. He then proceeded to apologize everyone he might have made any negative comment about that day including clowns, cat owners and truck drivers.

I actually did think about another radio host when confronted for being an asshole to his teammate, he refused to apologize when even asked for an apology.

1 guy you would love to hang out with and the other guy you would pay to leave you alone.

I didn't hear it, so I can only base it on your post, but it doesn't seem that Jurko was being malicious in any way. I read it as a shot at Cutler, not diabetics.

of course he wasnt, but people still call in and defend the diabetics....the funny thing is, never once did anyone call in and say "hey I am diabetic and I dont care...I think what you said is funny"

Just people that enjoy being hardasses and defending what they feel needs defending...when in reality it doesnt

Did Jurko saying he'll be more sensitive come after a commercial break?

Just asking cuz I'll bet the boss came into the studio to make Jurko do this.

This would be a nothing at the SCORE. Hell, Bernstein does fat jokes with Spiegel in the room. But ESPN is a different place. It has Carmen scared to say anything controversial or even discuss a controversial issue.

Jurko is a good dude, while he still thinks he did nothing wrong, he understands others might not feel the same way and chosr to back off....

I would suggest, if that were the case, he'd need more sugar, not insulin ... being "low" really amplifies any cuntitude a person has ... although I knew a someone who was a real jag but we knew they were low because they were fun to be around for awhile.

I'd say it's entirely unlikely Jurko was taking a shot (ha!) at diabetics ... but even if he was, so friggin' what? It's not like he said "all diabetics are dumb and gay and weird and look like Ethel Merman", it was just a throwaway trope of a comment. In my world the lady gets told to blow it out her ass.
