Smith has been completely exposed as a system goalie this year without elite zone defense in front of him: he's been unable to keep his save percentage above the NHL Mendoza Line of .900 over the year (last night's game pumped him up to .899). I don't want to bother looking it up but shouldn't we look at what the other teams top center is doing against Toews? Im willing to bet that he's shutting most of them down while still managing a plus teens ratings. So he must be doing something right for being such a shitty player.
