Interesting news, especially in the wake of a couple of other guys calling it quits early in their careers this offseason. I could see this happening more and more
as we learn more about the CTE stuff. If a guy can get in and play 5-6 years and get out injury free with a nice chunk of money why wouldn't
you consider walking away while you still feel like you have your health?

I read that he said he played through a concussion this past preseason and that scared him to some degree.

Had to be a tough decision for him to make but he is still a very young guy with his whole life ahead of him. I give him credit for making the hard choice.

In the past week four NFL players, age 30 or under, have retired from football: Chris Borland (age 24), Jason Worilds (age 27), Jake Locker (age 26), and Patrick Willis (age 30).

That is like saying someone was only caught speeding twice.

It obviously happened way, way, way more than that. The story that slowly seems to be coming out of how many NFL players are getting memory loss in a majority of the games they play. That really is the scariest stuff. Lots of stories of guys who couldn't recall whole drives and some who can't tell you what happened for quarters or halves.
