He's in Arizona for the NFL meetings. Here's Patrick Finley's tweets on what he said. Pretty interesting. Shows George does have final say. Even though Bernstein said he doesn't.

I tuned in B&B while driving to Columbus Ohio this afternoon. A few good callers called out Dan and Terrys hypocrisy about signing football players, not role models, etc...They were shouted down of course.
As we all knew all along, Pace cant make all the decisions on his own.

When I lost the 670 signal I tuned in to Lance McCalister on WLW. He had a cup of coffee in Chicago 15 years ago or so.

After the McCaskey quotes came out from Adam Jahns and Patrick Finley, Bernstein fired up a couple tweets a half hour later.

@Dan_Bernstein: #Bears source: McDonald signing catalyzed by Fangio. His insistence pushed Pace, who then decided to seek "character" clearance.

@Dan_Bernstein: #Bears source: Pace could have cleared McDonald unilaterally, but chose to have higher green-lighting. That we know he did so is strange.

That is some masterful backpedaling.

Well, well....sure he COULD have signed him on his own.......he just decided to get the OK from ownership. But other than that, he controls all football decisions.

True. When was the last time she publicly spoke? Last time I remember was when they won the NFC title game vs. the Saints.

Every time I think the #Bears understand how to do #NFL business, they go all McCaskey. They may dribble this whole chance down their leg.

No, Dan. The Bears didn't do anything wrong and they're not going to do anything wrong. No, wait, that's the Bulls. The Blackhawks, however, they'll do things wrong. Look how long it took for them to cover up the legs of those two-bit hussies. It was angrying up the blood.

Wait a second. He would rip people who say the McCaskey's are involved. Now he's joining that crowd without saying he was wrong? He's something else.

Wait, "going all McCaskey" doesn't mean the McCaskeys themselves were involved, it just means the organization acted in a way reminiscent of the McCaskeys. The only "something else" Bernstein is is a WINNER.

Whenever I hear the name, "George McCaskey," I immediately think of 'boy near tear.' Those two sets of words will forever be linked in my mind.

Dan thought this was a new Bears way of doing business and joining the big boy football scene. Poor Dan.

Has Bernstein explained why the Bears management (according to him) could be anti-Marshall, but support signing McDonald?

Because everybody in the building was scared of Brandon Marshall. George knows that McDonald only hurts women. So he's safe. And he's a quiet get along teammate. Unlike Marshall.

George OKed this for one reason. He said it at the season ending press conference. He wants to give his mom one more Super Bowl before she dies. So each year is precious and urgent. So you get criminals on the cheap if need be.

Not this shit again.

You have mentioned here that you approached your parents for funds to buy a building. Was that Freudian, or the same thing?

I was 22 years old...I wasnt 65 and CEO of the God Damn Fucking Chicago Bears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great Comparison!

Then George called Rays parents and found the 30 year old man has a good support system with parents that are still married.....WTF??? So if his mom was a single mother that would have been the breaking point of Georges Bullshit Ethical Standards?

It's really so simple. For most of us.

George works for the majority stockholder of the Bears.

The Chicago Bears are the most recognizable and popular sports brand in this city.

He has a brand to protect while he seeks to field a competitive team. He did his due diligence and changed his original position.

Throwing out a non sequiter about McDonald's mom doesn't help a baseless position.

You have a hard on for the McCaskey's. It's well known.

It's your documentation that is always lacking, and therefore suspect.

Btw, are going with the pop tarts tomorrow?

George was a NO until he sat down and talked to Ray.

Who I'm sure told him exactly what he wanted to hear to get a paycheck.

Way to stick to your guns, George.

PACE HAS TOTAL FOOTBALL CONTROL unless it's a player who beats women....DUI? It's totally Ryan's call.

Wrong.

He met with Ray and talked to his parents. Due dilligence would include maybe looking at the text exchanges between Ray and a victim, which somehow Jason Goff was able to unearth. But George didn't want to delve that deeply.

I wonder why Ray wasn't snapped up by some other team?

You are such an embarassing little ass kisser. Seriously.

He sat down and chatted with a guy who came and told his story. A story btw, that neither you nor i have. And then he talked with his family and decided to give the guy a chance.

Try and have just one Bears thought of your own. Just one.

He wanted to play for Fangio.

Why didn't he go see any other team. The Cowboys did sign Greg Hardy the day before.

I texted in my thoughts this morning, which were read on the show. Try again.

And you calling someone "an embarassing little ass kisser" is rich. Seacrest Bernstein.....the ownership water carrier.

Is that how free agency works? Player A just shows up at team office?
