Thats why they need Kobe. They have nobody that can create a better shot than that, they had 19 seconds and thats all they could come up with.

The Nets are like the greatest 41-win basketball team in history, or something. We can't beat the fuckers.

New rule: in crunch time, don't give the ball to Ben Wallace.

Damn turnovers. When you make lazy or hasty passes you're prone to cough the ball up.

Very. We shot ourselves in the foot and blew a great comeback. Nothing prevented the win except our own carelessness.

I wasn't crazy with the shot selection. Yes, sometimes you have to take what the defense is giving, and they did have a lot of open looks, but way too many 3 point shots.

One thing that was a continuation of last season was the constant fouls that we keep getting.

I watched pretty much all of the game. A few negative observations:

Skiles had a bad game.
-After a year, he still hasn't figured out how to handle Wallace at the end of a game. If he touches the ball in crunch time it's a easy stop for the other team.
-This didn't change the outcome, but when Kirk picked up his 6th foul, he shouldn't have even been in the game. It was an obvious fouling situation, and he had 5. Put Duhon or Thabo in there to pick up the foul, and then sub in Kirk when they're shooting free throws.
-They should have gone small more often than they did, especially against New Jersey. Kristic is there only big that's a threat to score.
-They HAVE to get a better shot than Gordon dribbling out the clock and shooting a 28 footer with a hand in his face with 19 seconds on the clock and a tie game, especially when he's giving up 3-4 inches to Vince Carter.

Luol played well, but he kinda disappeared on the offensive end in crunch time. I had visions of him making the last shot in regulation to win the game, thereby announcing his arrival as a star. Didn't happen. The 4th quarter pretty much showed why they need to make a deal for an elite scorer. If only there was one on the trading block that wanted to come to Chicago...

Ben Gordon is the guy they continue to go to late....I didn't like the shot selection tonight, and way too many turnovers/fouls...It's only Game 1 though and this is a good team. We'll be fine.

Obviously not a good loss, but the Bulls make their living at home, I dont think theyll lose more than 8 at the UC this year. They have always struggled to win on the road.

Ben Gordon is an awesome scorer. His continued improvement showed tonight, I dont blame the last shot on him as much as Skiles. I was very happy with how Ben played tonight.

I think the Bulls win the next 3, and then we'll get to see them against detroit.

He was OKAY. I can't get that excited about 32% from the field.

By the way...Antoine Wright?!?! Where the eff did he come from? A career 27% shooter from deep was lights out all night.

I thought Gordon got a bit fatigued at the end of the game, but he played a solid game, and ran the offense a bit more than I suspected he would, at least for one game.

Watched the game at a bar and didnt see the box score till just now. Still, him and Luol stood out and without him in there I dont see us getting back in it. Lu's halfcourt steal on VC was awesome. There were some good things to take from this game, but obviously they need to D up and give better effort the whole game.

One other thing... Duhon or Kirk needs to be out there every second. Ben absolutely can not run the point. Either can Thablo.

They messed up setting the screen for that shot, as usual.

The Bulls are horrible at those top-of-the-key screens, they were last year too.

I see other teams do it no problem. Even when the bulls do actually set it, all they can do with it is give the point guard about 2 seconds of dribbling before the defender gets back.

I agree and when you're doing nothing but taking outside shots guess what...you're not getting to the foul line. It would be nice to see somebody who could slash and penetrate, possibly drawing some fouls every now and then.

I see Deng as a guy who can get to the basket, but Gordon is more likely to get his shot blocked when he goes down low. To this point, Thabo is more of a jump shooter, and Hinrich does look to penetrate, isn't a great finisher either.

Bascially, what we saw last night is what they are - a jump shooting team.

So in other words, they are who you thought they were?

Time to start scouting the NFL draft.

This staggered NBA schedule really irritates me. 3 games on opening night, then like 6 last night, now only 3 tonight...I shouldn't have to wait until Friday to see the Celtics!
